If the Pats lose, would you root for Chargers/Chiefs in SB?

If there’s anyone who deserves a 2nd super bowl, it’s Brees..

I am actually really happy with the non-Pat AFC options. I would be happy to see Rivers win a ring - he's been an amazing competitor even on crappy teams - yes to KC for Reid and Mahomes - and dare I say I am ok with Luck winning albeit the Colts.

1. Rivers
2. Brees
3. Rams

An old AFL teams to win would be great.

For as long as I can remember a loss meant not only losing but having to watch the Steelers, Ravens, or a Manning team get a chance to walk away with the Lombardi. So essentially I’ve rooted hard for the NFC in each Super Bowl for the past 20 years.

Obviously no one here can be a real fan stomach the Colts/Irsay, but what about the Chiefs or Chargers? Would you potentially be rooting for an AFC team this year, or be neutral at the least?

So if the Patriots don’t win, then...

I would like to see Philip Rivers get a ring. He’s been a better QB than Eli and arguably than Roethlisberger, but he’s had so many crappy teams and disappointments.

I would also like to see Andy Reid finally get a ring, as he’s a very underrated coach and probably the second best of this era. He’s had to fight in the playoffs with Alex Smith and Donovan McNabb. The Chiefs have “put their time in” and been a perennial contender for years now as well, and I typically root for teams like that to get rings (rather than fluky luck teams like the Giants who are totally unworthy of their titles.)

Thoughts?
I usually don’t watch the SB if the patriots don’t make it. I’m usually still pissed off and don’t care who wins.

wentz isn’t going to sit in the bench waiting for brady to retire.

I guess I'm in the minority, on the field I like Rivers and feel like the Spanos family has wasted his career but I've always been a Brees backer and if anything the Saints have wasted his abilities even more. If it's not a Brady/Brees matchup I'd love to see Rivers/Brees. My money would be on Brees. Oh and Mahomes time is coming, he can wait his damn turn.

Hye Fnord...c'mon,how'd you make out today? Hit the bucks or the bricks?

I'm convinced the NFL(meaning Goodell) wants KC to make it to the Super Bowl and beat Brees to win it, thereby ensuring the next decade of "must watch!" new stars to pimp all that NFL merch and keep ratings atmospheric. The millenials could care less about dinosaurs like Brees and Brady and the Treasure Bath Master knows this explicitly. It's already started right in our faces...for example, the info clip with Mahomes showing how he throws a no look pass and hits the target while the nitwit gushes into his mic "OMG!! How'd he do that!!!!"...it's marketing...and we're all the prisoners in the Goodelliverse..."hey, was that a catch or not a catch?? Oh well, ref picked the ball up...no play...THAT'S the new rule GAA GAA GOONY!!!"...not even the retired refs in the booth agreed with THAT idiocy but there it is...ENTERTAIMENT!!!. krist, what a joke

I pushed yesterday and decided not to bet. Then I heard the words "Joey Bosa" in my head and drove to the casino and moved my push $$ to the Chargers +3 today.

heh...congrats. Really weird day of football.

Y Chargers
N Chiefs
NFW Colts
Y Saints
N Eagles
N Cows

Agree on the two. I’d almost say Chiefs because Mahomes comes off as a pretty good dude in his young career. But I had to spend time in Missouri for 3 months and while it was ok, the fans were delusional arrogant pricks. Can’t do it, if it happens.

Yeah, it’s nauseating at times. Especially when they tried giving him a nickname on bspn. ••••ing “Showtime,” give me a break.

However I dont think its any doing of his own.
