Wildcard Game Thread: Eagles @ Bears

I forget, what gave us that pick ?
I don't know, someone posted in the begining of this thread that if the bears lose we get the 56th pick. Which made me think that if the bears win does that mean the 57th pick. I would drop one slot to see philly lose. Of course some maniac could have posted that.

We have a fundamental disagreement on the philosophy of throwing games. It came down to the last play and Chicago had a golden opportunity to win it. There would be no guarantee of beating Minnesota and Philly didn't exactly blow the Bears out tonight now, did they. Had that final kick gone through you wouldn't be here blowing nonsense. Had Philly stomped them, you might have an argument.

Part of it is strategy too. My gut tells me Nagy did not want to lose to a divisional rival and let them in the playoffs. There was a pride element at play here. They could have rested their starters in the 2nd half and still tried to win - they could have done so in order that their stars not get hurt. It was that “we hate the Vikings and we’re not going to help them” attitude that cost them. They just went for the juggular against the Vikings, who looked awful all year.

Cody Parkey will always have to pay for beer in Chicago....if he’s even allowed in the bar.

You have the number 3 seed wrapped up. There is no reason to allow the defending Super Bowl champs into the postseason when the other possible opponent is a team you demolished in your own building earlier. None.

Matt Nagy cost then the game with his decision making last week and poor coaching today.

I disagree with everything except the last 3 words

Had Chicago thrown that last game and then a pissed-off Minnesota beat them in the playoffs, it would've been monumentally devastating. You can't risk that, especially vs. a division rival.

They could not risk a sack or not getting the first down. They had no timeouts and could not clock it on 4th down

I'm talking about the play he clocked it on.

Yeah but there’s no guarantee whoever catches it gets out of bounds. Would have been high risk play and gotta stop the clock afterwards.

That was the result of burning the final timeout instead of clocking the ball after the long completion. Burning that timeout changed everything that came afterwards.

Bears should’ve quick snap on that fg try knowing philly would try to freeze them

Is there a reason not to like Nick Foles? Zero trash talk last year and graceful winner. Great comeback story. Clutch QB who wins games. You don’t have to like the Eagles to like the guy.

Would not likely have mattered. Bears scored to go up 15-10. A PAT would have made it a 6 point game, When Eagles scored, it would have been tied at 16, and they would have kicked a PAT and NOT gone for two...
true but Pat’s isn’t an automatic these days

Screw him, all of his teammates and everyone living in that dump of a city. Oh, and include all of south Jersey...And central Jersey...all of New Jersey...

Carson Wentz, 2 seasons of watching Foles steal the glory. He must be kicking himself inside...

Joe Kerr World...Episode 373

"OK, Coach Kerr...our roster is almost done. Now as far as our kicker goes, we think we should go with this guy Cody....Cody Parkey..."

" What???????? Are you people serious? Are you all ****in' nuts or what?! Cody is bad enough...but PARKEY??? WTF is this a margerine commercial? "is that kicker?""No It's Parkey".. No No No No and...absolutely not...no freaking Parkeys OK? next you'll tell me he's Scott Norwood's love child via Sarah Jessica Parkay...good God wake the eff up...NO PARKEYS EVER!!"

That's what everyone said about the Cowboys game, too. And look what happened.
The Saints have a good enough defense to stall Foles and they’re not going to break down on offense like Chicago did. Saints will win.
