Wildcard Game Thread: Eagles @ Bears

Yeah but there’s no guarantee whoever catches it gets out of bounds. Would have been high risk play and gotta stop the clock afterwards.
True, but I would’ve liked to see something different there. Maybe a quick sideline pass.

Disagree. Chicago has a new coach in process of building a winning program, you don't get there throwing games in the "hope" you get an easier playoff opponent. You play to win all the time and Chicago absolutely should've won tonight -- it's not like the Eagles out-classed them.

You have the number 3 seed wrapped up. There is no reason to allow the defending Super Bowl champs into the postseason when the other possible opponent is a team you demolished in your own building earlier. None.

Matt Nagy cost then the game with his decision making last week and poor coaching today.

I don’t want to hear any more trash about the Pats being the luckiest team ever. Seriously.

This is why games should never, ever come down to a damn kicker, but ohhh well, that's Football.

Instant replay was as big a part of these wild card games as missed kicks.

I ****ing called it. I told a you guys this Eagles team was the N.Y. Giants 2.0. Here we go again with another back to back super bowl run with a fluky team.

The Saints will underestimate the Eagles just like they did against the Cowboys, and lose.

God, I hate these type of teams.

It's carved in stone. It's just meant to be

Yep.... I was just telling somebody that Nick Foles is Eli Manning from the past

What the hell is it with the NFC East and the amount of luck in that division? Like, it's literally disgusting how trashy teams ALWAYS find a way to squeak by and somehow manage to win a Super Bowl.

Not by pure talent or coaches with high football IQs, but with sheer luck and boneheaded mistakes by the other teams.

It's an urban legend that Belichick told Cassel to miss the 2 pointer against the Dolphins in 2005 as a loss got them Jacksonville instead on Pittsburgh.

So Bill has never rested his starters when the seeding is wrapped up?

This might be the angriest I’ve been over a non Patriots loss.

Gotta be kiddingggg

Think we traded one of our thirds lst year. Was hoping for pick in the 30’s but they overachieved.

Nope lost that trade, the Pats sent them pick #51 for their 2019 second rd pick and puck #105 . They traded pick 105 to Cleveland for picks #114 & 178. Then they traded #114 to Detroit for thier 2019 3rd rounder which will be pick #74. The Pats took Christian Sam with pick #178.

So they traded pick #51 for picks #56 and #74 in 2019 plus Christian Sam

Agree. Trubisky panicked away ten seconds off the clock on the previous play. Or could blame that on the coach I guess.

In preference of teams I'd want to see in potential SB

1. Cowboys
2. Eagles
3. Rams
4. Saints

Maybe I'm a fool for wanting the Eagles again, not going to lie, I wanted the Giants again in 2011 and that didn't work out so well....

They could not risk a sack or not getting the first down. They had no timeouts and could not clock it on 4th down

What’s up with NFC North kickers? Seems like it’s usually them that screw up like that.

Nah, Rams are the weakest of that bunch. Terrible defense. Only kc had a worse defense of playoff teams. Patriots would destroy the Rams. Saints obviously the toughest, but I'd go with Dallas next. Solid defense and can run the football.

You're not going to beat a fluky team that wins based on sheer luck. You could have a 7 pt lead with 3 seconds left on the clock and Nick Foles or Eli would lob it in the air and the ball would come down in the hands of either team's best receivers for a easy TD pass and win the game.

They have the type of recievers that would be able to catch these kind of passes 120% of the time. It makes me sick to think about it like that, that there are teams out there, which mainly come from the NFC EAST, who excel at these moments.

We have a fundamental disagreement on the philosophy of throwing games. It came down to the last play and Chicago had a golden opportunity to win it. There would be no guarantee of beating Minnesota and Philly didn't exactly blow the Bears out tonight now, did they. Had that final kick gone through you wouldn't be here blowing nonsense. Had Philly stomped them, you might have an argument.
