Amazing stats putting Brady's winning in perspective

Montana with the better road than home record - winning 75% on the road is pretty nuts.

That's what jumped out at me too. I love being dominant at home, especially late-season, half the work is done by the fact that the other team is in Foxboro after Thanksgiving... but imagine not thinking "The playoffs MUST go through NE to get to the SB." In fact, SF fans were probably praying to lose the playoff seeding tiebreakers.

Now just so we don't lose our minds about this winning thing...

If my QB goes into a game, throws 3 TDs, and wins.... and your QB throws 6 TDs and 200 more yards and loses... Well then, doesn't the final tally list him as winning "his part" of the game?

It doesn't?

Okay let's go with winning then :D

Total passing yards have an awful correlation with chances of winning.
Number of passing TDs thrown correlates better.
Number of total TDs scored correlates much better.
Fewer number of turnovers made correlates better still.
More team points correlates perfectly. :)

In the playoffs, this was not operative though. During their 80’s run, SF lost 3 times on the road and once at home I think. Lost to Wash once on the road and twice to NYG. Lost once to NYG at home. The Giants were their kryptonite - sound familiar?

That’s an interesting context to passer rating but it is also inherently flawed with the ridiculous nature of passer rating and what people imply it indicates.

On one hand, passer rating is innately pretty dumb if you look a the formula they cooked up... but on the other hand if you pick different stats the picture doesn't change very much either. It's just a shorthand/approximation.

Bill Belichick? :)

Bill Belichick? :)
SF scored 19 points total in those 3 losses. And NY knocked Montana out of the game (and into the middle of next week) in the last 2.

Goat discussion is kinda subjective so it's up to you and your definition of great. At this point it's old. Consensus is Brady wins.. ironically cuz he's great team player . He wins.

This is my goat... Upload file... Not that one !!:D

On his current trajectory, Wilson is one of the 10 best QBs to ever play the game IMO. We'll see how his career unfolds. Curious to see if he can crack the Top 10. He's a winner.
