Yeah, LVE was my favorite overall prospect on defense. Dallas can run the ball and has a good defense. They have a formula that has historically made teams tough outs in the postseason. The kind of team that travels well.

Against a soft schedule. The Patriots probably could have beat them by close to 40 points when they played had they not had self-inflicted errors. They’ll pound Indy again if Indy makes the postseason and has to come back to Gillette.

I think they can make it. Their schedule is essy the rest of the way, and I can see them beating Pittsburgh or KC in the playoffs. They have a strong defense and a good running game.

I'm still a believer in fundamental football.

The teams that are pumping out 30+ppg with so-so defenses will have games in which they need to grind things out and require their respective defenses to make plays and stops.

Team like DEN who has a functional QB, a pass rush, a strong running game and a couple of decent cover guys in the secondary....then have the prerequisites.

Yeah, Indy's schedule after the New England game has been the softest in the league. The rest of the AFC East, Oakland, Jacksonville, and the Titans.

Last night's game goes to show the people who are overly worried about the Patriots every time they don't win by 30 that football happens. The Saints are the best team in the league, the Cowboys pretty average (albeit with a good defense). The Saints probably win that matchup 4 out of 5 games. But you only play one game in football.

The Broncos are a poor man's version of Dallas, which also has a very good defense and running game but a much better offense. Dallas seemed to find the solution to stopping Drew Brees and that is attacking the interior of the o-line, and once you stop Brees, the whole offense collapses.

That DAL D is so fast. Even when the pressure was in Brees' face and he'd dump it out to Kamara they held him to very modest gains.

If there is one thing I really want Bill to do in the offseason is pick up a couple of speedy LBs. They just make so much of a difference vs teams like NO, KC, etc (teams with speed in the backfield).

Brees is a relatively immobile pocket passer. Attacking the A and B-gaps is always the recipe for success against those types of passers (including, as we've seen, Brady). The problem lies in that most teams do not have the personnel to successfully do that on a consistent basis. Dallas did.

Haven't we been saying this for years now? When have they ever really had fast LBs? Even in the heyday their LBs weren't "fast". Bruschi - great player, not really "speedy". Mayo - tackling machine, not really "speedy". Ninkovich, Phifer, Vrabel - solid defenders, not "speedy". Hightower and McGinest and Ted Johnson and Cox and Spikes - thumpers but not "speedy". I'm trying to recall the best, "speedy" linebacker the Pats have had in the BB era. I'm having a hard time coming up with one.

Especially true with Brees because he's not quite 6' tall so it's harder for him to see when guys are in his face. Brady is affected by A-gap rushes as well, but at 6'4", he can at least possibly see over the defenders sometimes.

Dallas’ linebackers make this defense. We badly need some good one.

I would have loved vanderesche or whatever his name is, some were nervous about his injury history and I thought he might fall to us at 21, but cowboys made a great pick there

So jealous of those linebackers, reminds me of the early Pats dynasty team
