What the heck happened to the Jaguars???

To answer the OP....

Pick one :
A) Jags were just too tired to compete the rest of the season after ***** slapping NE up and down the field for 60 minutes in Week 1
or
B) Defense First Teams that lean on stud RBs to carry the offense need the stars to be aligned and a near healthy roster to last 19-20 games. Margin for error is razor thin.
Without Fournette....Forget about it.

Jags have a shot for Top 5 draft pick......QB ?
Remaining schedule:
Colts
Titans
Redskins
Dolphins
Texans
They might as well just lose out. I’m not sure what good winning another game does. It’s not taking them to the playoffs. All it would do is hurt their draft position. If I’m them, I cut ties with Ramsey, who is a malcontent (albeit a very talented one) in the offseason and trade Telvin Smith. Try to load up on picks so they can move around in the draft. Naturally, I’d also move on from Bortles. What an amateur move giving him that contract was.

I only saw them against us and last week vs Pittsburgh. Bortles is obviously the problem (tho he plays well against us) because their defense and run game actually looked really good last week which was during this big losing streak , but they have zero threat of a pass. Pittsburgh paid zero respect to bortles and that was the only way they could stay in the game and eventually crack that defense.

Was hoping for another AFC championship rematch.

Our lack of speed at LB makes any kind of semi mobile QB a threat cos we can't chase them down before they manage to extend the drive.

Well, it's nice that those head-to-head loss tie breakers won't really play a factor in playoff seeding.

Also, parity happened to the Jags. It's happening to the Pats right now. It's just that, even though this is a rebuilding/reloading year for the Pats they're winning games because they have a HOF coach and QB.

It’s not really a reloading or rebuilding year for the Pats given their entire offseason netted them one medium term contributor (Michel) and one other productive guy on a 1 year deal (T.Brown). The rest of the reloading failed spectacularly and the core of the team is older and worse than last year.

To reload or rebuild you need to add a group of core contributors either young or veteran. The Pats got garbage vets (long since cut or non factors like Shelton and Clayborn) and injured/question mark rookies.

This is an erosion year. One where the team still has a shot at winning the Super Bowl if lots of things break in their favor but the team is getting worse, not better, in terms of talent.

Wasn’t it just last year Hackett was being praised as one of the best young OCs in the game?

Lack of discipline seems to be their biggest problem. Yesterady, their guy made a trendous catch. At first it was ruled a TD, both the Jags WR and the Bills CB refused to let go of the ball even minutes after the play was ruled down and over. In the meantime, Fournette decides to start hurling haymakers at a Bills guy wearing a helmet! Anyone who has ever dooned a football helmet can tell you punching a guy wearing a helmet might be one of the most futile gestures know to man!

So The play goes to replay, The NFL offices see Fournette and Lawson throwing punches, in addition to making the ruling on the player being short of the endzone, they tell the ref to disqualify both Fournette and Lawson (a great trade off for the Bills).

The game is tied 14 all. The jags have the ball first and goal from the one, they get stuffed (because one of the league's premier power back is kicked out of the game over a play he wasn't even involved in, false start, offensive holding, yada they miss a field goal.

The Bills go on to win the game because without Fournette, the Jags are helpless on offense.

Their cure for this, fire the OC.

Its just dumb undisciplined football.

trash talk and swagger and ******** can only carry you so far........not putting the time and work in, the lack of commitment to excellence, is going to catch up to you.......there's lots of avenues to getting to the top, but staying on top is pretty simple.....you have to work hard, you have to put the time in, do the little things, and everyone has to be on board......that ain't happening in Jax........all sizzle, no steak

Jags are “not that good” (in reference to Ramsey’s comment about Gronk)
