DT and JG on the outside, Gronk and JE working the middle of the field, Damn...

Multiple league sources confirm the #Patriots have been active on the trade front for weeks. That’s not abnormal for them. One name that’s been discussed is #Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas. Thomas was drafted by Pats OC Josh McDaniels when he was HC at Denver.

I'd be surprised if we traded for a WR before getting defensive help
Patriots realize Hogan has fell off a cliff.
We need a smart receiver or one

Prefer Golladay.

The thing about getting OBJ is that he'd only hit the cap for about $775k for the remainder of this season.

Thomas, OTOH, would hit the cap for about $4.5M.

I'm not a biggest DT fan but there is no denying he is a very good receiver. That is a lethal group. With White and Michel too. [insert Randy Marsh spooky ghost pic]

Will Demaryus click with Brady??? This means that BB doesn't believe in Hogan. Oh, and the Dorsett expirement is over...

WTH, we don’t need another receiver

Thought this deserved its own thread.

No offense to the O.P., who's just passing on the tweet, but that makes no sense.

Since Edelman has returned, Hogan has caught 13 of 15 tgts for 175 yards. That's an 87% catch rate at a ypc of 13.5 yds. Doesn't seem particularly cliff-like.

Plus he is a core STer this year and punt return option. Id prefer to re-sign Hogan over most of rumoured names . Id guess they already offered him what they would pay and its not close to what his agent thinks he can get. And BB isn't waiting for anyone..

I guess BB is saying NFL defense is no longer so just acquire offensive weapons and you will be ok? I am hoping for a LB or Safety.

That's how I read it. Field the best weapons and survive shootouts.

As far as the D goes, I guess the best way to attack it is to have a stud D line, and everyone else is coverage. Four D line and 7 defensive backs.

Someone mentioned Hopkins, and that would be unreal. I remember we had interest in him when we went after Cooks. To me, he's the best receiver out there, available or not.

If Glazer is right & the Pats acquire another legit WR, this offense will rival 2007.

It would be better if we added a top shelf receiver. Too many options to go to. Once Michel becomes a pass catching weapon, there's few ways to gameplan against us.

Odell, Hopkins, Tate, Julio, Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, Steve Largent, Sterling Sharpe, Chris Carter, Fitz, Art Monk :D

Demaryius Thomas is on the wrong side of 30 and has declined over the last few years. I’d give nothing more then a 3rd for him.

Pats should actually be getting a 3rd rounder in that trade taking expendable 31y WR in decline (5 TD py over last 4 seasons) and close to 20M of cap space.. ;)
