Patrick Peterson Wants Out of Arizona

Gilmore/Peterson would be the best CB duo since 2015 Talib/Harris. Doesn’t solve the lack of athleticism in the front seven. That move would be odd but maybe we’d stack the box/middle of field more.

Better secondary = Better pass rush. Don't remember seeing them improve exclusively.

Peterson's cap hit is also SUPER friendly in this day and age.

$14 mill this year (would be reduced), $11 next year, and $13 after that. Above average corners are given more than that, and cutting him would be simple if necessary.

I thought #2 CB was always open spot for BB. J-Mac stepped up ok but the continuing rotation (on Sunday alone he rotated 3 CBs opposite Gilmore) is a sign he wouldn't mind/is open for upgrade.

And while the coverage was pretty good most of the time . if Peterson could step in and play in this system close to Gilm0re's level (which is not a given - just remember Gilmore's struggles early) that would be bigger for “front 7“/box play and D in general than any LB move people are so desperate for..

Its not a necessity (esp. with new young corners promises) but could be great opportunity esp. for this season.

If rumours are true Pats should be the highest bidder considering both draft capital and cap space situation over next 2 yrs (NO has no 1st or 3rd rounder in 2019; PHI is 16M in debt in 2019 cap). If BB really wants something he is usually the highest bidder (also easiest to make a deal with).

You would think that every team in the league would put in a call for this guy. Especially the contenders. P2 and Gilmore would be unreal.

If we offer similar value to the others, then Cardinals would ship him out of the conference

I mean arizona has more incentive to send him to the AFC than saints or eagles

Are the Patriots really showing interest or is this the classic case of making it sound like the Patriots are interested to drive the value up?

We don't have the coin. Nothing to see here, move on.

Not True. The Patriots could trade for him and give him a signing bonus, pushing some of the remaining amount of his contract into the last 2 years. Furthermore, they'd have very little to worry about if Peterson didn't work out.

I don't think McCourty is good by any means, but I think our CB's take heat, because the lack of pass rush, it's hard to guard for 5+ seconds. If we had an average pass rush, I think the CB's look better than they are. Again, not saying they're good by any means, I just don't think they're as bad as we make them seem. Just my opinion.

Would be a dream having him opposite Gilmore. Can Brady restructure for space, lol.

I'm fairly certain that they can have Peterson restructure for the cap space. Especially since none of the signing bonus amortization transfers.

Clearly you don't know what a pass rush is because the Pats are amongst the league leaders in QB Hits/Pressures.

The issues that the Pats have in coverage deal more with the inability of the LBers to cover TEs/RB. And the Pats corners, while they have the ability, they need to gang tackle because it's a TE/RB.
