Patrick Peterson Wants Out of Arizona

Would be a dream having him opposite Gilmore. Can Brady restructure for space, lol.

I think most would agree that an upgrade in the secondary would be much needed after Gilmore, but Peterson is probably going to be a little too expensive.

We are also in needed of a linebacker with speed and another pass rusher.

The Most Leveraged Show on Turf.

If Seattle has any hopes of keeping up, they’re on the phone with Arizona.

If we traded for this guys it would change everything.

It's not happening but damn thatd be awesome.

Of course. It would give the team two lockdown corners on the outside and the ability to consistently kick Jones inside to the nickel role. The safeties can then be freed up to either move into the box, blitz, shade to one side, or man up on the opposing TE since those two can realistically be trusted to take their man out one on one with little to no help up top.

But it’s not going to happen.

Bill send them a conditional 3rd. I know it’s a splurge, but we could use him

His cap hit would be slightly less than 7 million for the rest of the year, which is doable with a few tweeks to the Pats, or the Pats could send a player to AZ along with a pick to sweeten the deal and give them more cap room. Peterson is signed through 2020 set to make 11 and 12 mil for each year, which is not bad for a top flight corner.

I normally advocate giving HC a few years but I don’t think wilks is the right fit there. Maybe best to cut bait and start over.

No idea if Wilks is a problem or not, but Keim should probably receive more scrutiny than he does.

I'm pretty sure he's only owed about 5 million for the rest of the season. It would be very tight for the cap, and the corners are playing pretty well (most of the breakdowns are with TEs and RBs), but Gilmore + Peterson would allow the Patriots to trust outside players in man, and flood the middle of the field with remaining personnel. Of course, teams will force them into situations where they have to play zone, but still, it would be the best CB duo in the league. Intriguing.

Peterson's 2018 salary was $11M, so $5.5M left after week-8. If the Cards would be willing to whittle that down to around $2.5M by converting salary to signing bonus, it might be doable. If the Pats throw Rowe into the trade, that cuts the net cap hit by about another $500k (and clears the roster spot).

There you go, with a good or picks that's reasonable/manageable and totally doable for AZ. Just need the Pats onboard. Someone get Captain Stone, he's got BB's ear....

Peterson is making the right move by wanting to leave. He doesn’t want to make the same mistake Fitzgerald made.

When did they bench McCourty?

Jason?

I don't think they did, really. The Pats were working both Rowe and JC Jackson into the mix here and there - Rowe to see how his groin would hold up (it didn't) and Jackson to get some experience (he needs it, obviously). Jason's percentage of D-snaps fell from and average of 99% over the past three games to 67%, but he actually played one more snap against CHI than he did against KCY (the defense played a LOT of snaps this Sunday).

wouldn’t be surprised if the eagles pick him up. they have the cap space.

He wants the Saints.

Sign this beast. J-mac can't be a starter. I'm not the biggest Rowe guy.

No thanks we are set.

Pipe dream.

But if Patrick Peterson was playing instead of Rowe (Butler) in the super bowl last year, I think we win. Who needs a pass rush when the refs did not call 1 offensive holding call against either team.

Given the obvious roadblocks to the ultimate goal (Chiefs, Rams etc), maybe another shutdown corner is the correct answer? The price would be huge because he is under contract for 2 more years after this one, but I would rather see him on the Patriots instead of Houston/Chiefs/Steelers. If there was a time to spend draft currency, this could be the one.

The only issue I would have is health, but I think that they have his diabetes under good control for the last couple of years.
