They improve last year but it reeled its ugly head in the super bowl. I don’t know how anyone thinks this defense will get better. Sure they might play better against ****ty competition but they lack talent on defense. I am just not sold on this defense. This offense has to get better in order to hide the warts on defense.

The lack of resources invested in LB since the departure of Collins has been shameful. Not to mention how poorly coached these guys are. Always passive and on their heels. Belichick needs to get some new coaching personnel on the defensive side of the ball.

We won those 2 SBs because of historic comebacks by Brady not because of good defense. He literally set records in both games bailing out the defense. And nearly did it again last year.

If we didn't get two turnovers I'd agree.

They caused 2 TO's but also played bad. Both lines lost the battle at the los. We couldn't get any pressure at all. When we did blitz we didn't bother trying to jam their WRs making it easier when we didn't get to BB.

The jags have a superior defense to us. That is plain as day.

But the fact that they're offensive game looks so much better to ours is what's disgusting.

But how could you not have expected this? It's not like Bortles was looking like the scrub that he is against us last year. Our D has been trash since 2010, we are good for making trash look like treasure, but Brady's greatness has covered up Belichick's defensive incompetence for waaaaay toooo long. He needs to go, and take the McCourtys and McDaniels with him.

Nothing I've seen today surprises me, given the talent Brady has at WR, on the O-line, and on the sideline-- yes, Josh McDaniels is trash, and I was ecstatic when I learned he was going to Indy, only to be disappointed to learn that he was staying put. Brady is playing against a mediocre, yet top ranked defense. Bortles is playing against a practice squad, who gets a pass because Belichick has rings on his finger.
