Unless he got concussed in individual drills . nothing would surprise me with the way this unit is going..
I dont understand how his knee injury could be that serious, Willis Mcgahee had his knee bent into an L in the opposite direction and came back just fine from that.. what could be worse than his injury?
This was his injury for perspective:
I don't think anyone does. Kenjon Barner is the next halfback on the depth chart if Michel doesn't play. Barner has one career start in four season. See the problem now?If this guy’s coming back he better be 100 percent. I really don’t want the coaching staff to blow it here by rushing him back quickly.
Its not the reconstruction that ends careers. The ligament grafts they do now are extremely reliable. After surgery for a blown out knee the load pattern inside the joint is forever changed, causing gradual cartilage degeneration which can eventually lead to a bone on bone situation from which there is no return, just management. IIRC its what ended Curtis Martins career.I dont understand how his knee injury could be that serious, Willis Mcgahee had his knee bent into an L in the opposite direction and came back just fine from that.. what could be worse than his injury?

Honestly I'm less concerned with how he'll play. There's no question about his talent. I'm more interested in how much he'll play and if he can string together consecutive weeks without being rested or "managed". That injury is no joke and how much he plays as the season goes on will be telling for the longevity of his career.
he wasn't great, but they need gillislee right now
That article assumes a "bone on bone" condition based on a Lombardi report which may be correct or not. We do not really know. Sony did have an ACL tear years ago and did have an injury while at Georgia. That is all we really know. You can think BB is crazy for taking another 1st rounder with a knee injury history or Lombardi knows he will get more clicks with a "bone on bone" scoop. I think it is in between - Sony has a knee history but not as flamboyant as the Internet report of bone-on-bone.
Patriots have had way too many early round misses/injuries in the 2015-2018 drafts. We need Michel to hit big.
just keep him away from develin
I blame Patterson. That play should have never occurred. TB12 had the first down the play before on the QB keeper but Patterson wasn't set.

He runs into an o-lineman's ass on half his attempts. Plus, he fumbled (returned for a TD) in his first game with the Saints.
