I've been away from the forum for a while and just noticed there's a new "thank you" like. Shouldn't there also be a "you're welcome" one too or is that just my innate British politeness speaking.

Can't recall so many players going on IR.

Maybe not Foxboro Flu but Patriots Pandemic

I can..
Things have been relatively light in terms of injuries for the Pats during the pre-season, all things considered.

They had 8 guys go to IR during Pre-season last year.
Back in 2010 and 2008 they had a bunch as well..

No one is TRYING to put them anywhere. Could you not over-react like a ninny?
It was Ryan Hannable's speculation about Michel.

I mentioned Dawson because he's not practiced with the team for 2 weeks and didn't play in any games.

Putting them on IR and designating them to return means they get to focus on getting healthy and they can still study the play-book and participate in game planning.

Not sure where you get 10 weeks from, but players who are DTR can return after 8 games. The rule was modified this year.

All the NFL's new rules for next season

Next, take a step back because the team needs 2 OL and a WR. The team is HEAVY at DB and D-Line. But those players are healthy. We know that Izzo isn't and is expected to be IRed tomorrow. So that still leaves them needing to free another slot for an OL. f
Was not aware of that rule change still don't want to lose one of the top rooks for 8 weeks. And we can find the one spot in another way when we find the players to fill them.

I guess I'm getting too old to remember

@WinstonSmith

You're welcome

How is it irresponsible? It's his opinion.. Sheesh...

Because a lot of people have a ridiculously difficult time separating between a beat reporter reporting on roster moves and some jounalist's opinion piece.

How many times do you see people talking about Borges and Reiss, for example, which is sort of like comparing your favorite chef to your least favorite food critic.

Excellent idea my right and honorable friend.

Nothing is funnier than watch the House of Commons insult each other while keeping the decorum

Apparently, Hannable is just an *******. Goes in the big pile of Boston sensationalist media. Tweets 2 hours apart.

He may have also found out he was simply wrong. Aside from Greg Salas with Mike Reiss, I cannot recall too many members of the media that go back and admit they erred. I can remember many times, however, talking heads simply ignoring their misses.

He was playing 'guess the roster' and made a speculative move as part of that. No different than people whose mock drafts include trades.

If you think that's sensationalist idk what to tell you, man.

No he was being an A*s*s. A responsible member of the media would have said, "IF he goes on IR [though there's no indication he will].

He said "WHEN Sony Michel goes on IR"

He has no credibility with me, but you can follow fantasy presented as fact if you want

Lol, so he put two opposite opinions up within about an hour. Classic BSM.

"Which take is hottest? You decide!"

Exactly. Forget the fans who are concerned about losing the #1 pick.

Dumping Price for Hannable is like trading Rodney Harrison for Jordan Richards. In other words, business as usual for WEEI.

Even funnier is that the firing of Glen Ordway - EEI's most intelligent move in the past decade - only took a couple years to come full circle. Afternoons are unlistenable yet again.

That's what happens when sports outlets hire people with short-term memory loss

You're losing credibility with me if you're really going to read this much animosity into a guy trying to do a roster projection. His wording there could have been poorly-chosen or could have been used because the whole thing is just a game of predict the future.

He didn't report it as news, so it wasn't 'presented as fact' at all.

Are you guys just like, unable to differentiate between opinion and/or speculation and actual reporting?
