Watching Gillislee a couple years ago in Buffalo, he seemed to be a good player. I dunno what happened, and I hesitate to blame him too much since it's not his fault he keeps getting hit behind the LOS, but at some point the fact that your presence on the field is a huge tell that you're running becomes a problem. He reminds me of Blount in that sense, but Blount made up for it by breaking big plays and punishing defenders with big hits. Gillislee doesn't do that.
