I hate this play it safe defense against running QBs

The defensive fronts and activity seem considerably less aggressive relative to weeks 1 & 2. I suppose this is, and always will be BB's defense.

McCourty also looks considerably slimmer, especially in his arms. Not-so-sure he's starting FS material at this point.

As for the DPI, it was borderline but wasn't the ball uncatchable?

Anytime a team targets him, he gets exposed.

His physique aside, his level of play dropped off last season and he still looks a step slow and a bit out of place throughout this preseason.

An intelligent response in defense of DMC in lieu of a snarky one-liner would be nice, though.
