The same defense sucked in the first game, so why should we be commending him?

Other than cherry picking one of the two games, because we're being homers, I mean.

The eagles actually had more yardage than the skins.. 3 sacks against skins... 8 against eagles... It's pretty ridiculous to not give him.any credit. The guys were prepared and made plays. The coaches did that

Preparation for a preseason game is totally different than regular season.

He deserves no credit until the regular season starts

We may have a front 6 that can play conservatively and still be disruptive.
Flowers Rivers and clayborn are all capable of winning a lot of one on one battles on the outside.
Wise seems like he could be too.
Flowers, clayborn, Butler and Wise all can be disruptive from inside on passing downs.
Good pass rushes are based upon beating blockers not sending 6 and hoping they get there.
Rushing 4 who can win one on one battles rushes the throw into 7 in coverage.

Oh here on Patsfans we form opinions on entire seasons and player careers after a single play or two. Usually this occurs in the game day threads.

Your post has me, worried and concerned...

please...the correct nomenclature for this expression is caa caa doody. Pick up your game or turn in the playbook...
I remember being a single-digit midget in Dorchester and picturing that caa-caa was spelled with 2 Ks...don't know why...

No matter how good or bad the defense was in this latest game (preseason outcomes don't mean much), the aggressiveness seems like a true indicator that will carry over to the regular season. Definitely exciting stuff. I was among the people annoyed by how conservative the defense played with Patricia at the helm.

Dunno about the defensive schemes....we will see...

But I do like his sideline presence. With Patricia, we had a rocket scientist who would have a disappointed look....with Flores...we have a guy who lives and dies with each snap on the sideline...almost like a fan. I like it. Sometimes I like visible emotion...god knows BB never shows any....

I like emotion as long as you can do it in a composed manner. Don't get sobby or cute with it. Spiritual leading doesn't do **** in terms of 'going to war'.

A good leader needs some detachment from the environment, but they also don't need to be utterly dry and stale. Be high energy and focused.

You must have loved the Pete Carroll era...

We're on to Cincinnati...

He was told what defense to run.

I can't wait for the reality check in a month when people realize that the Eagles game (or anything in the preseason) was not representative at all for how BB / Flores will call the defense in the regular season. It is called situational football for a reason.

There will be whining. We will win the AFCE. Win the AFCCG. And then either make or not make that one play in the SB to win another title.

BB is not listening to Bon Jovi on the headphones and knows what is going on and what is being called, Flores even though folks seem to like his work so far is on a short leash..

It does seem as though Clayborne is a difference maker.. but it is all too early to tell how this team will look when the regular season commences...

Yes. Not specifically responding to you on this Andy, but to the overall discussion claiming Flores is more "aggressive" in his calling defenses than his predecessor: Patricia likely would've handled things the same way with this personnel.

Patricia ran the same preseason game practice session most seasons too. People have note Tampa, I remember a giant preseason game a few years ago as ones where it worked. There were others where it was done but didn’t stand out because it didn’t work.

It’s the patriots D, not Patricia’s or flores’. They will use their talent within the constraints of the system as they always have and we will continue to be philosophically conservative.
