Book claims that Brady was furious with Kraft after Deflategate.

It became a big deal after Bob Kravitz carefully crafted his tweet as if the Pats committed a crime. Once it went viral, the Pats were screwed and caused the NFL to overreact once again.

Kravitz ended up apologizing for the way he handled it. Chris Mortenson did the same.

I had elsewhere that, in this new book, the authors spoke to Kravitz and he revealed that the person who contacted him on the night of the Pats-Colts AFCCG was someone from league headquarters. I think this was one of the theories in the past, but he also could have been contacted by someone in the Colts organization who had heard about the investigation.

So, the NFL leaked to the media that there was an investigation after the game. A couple of days later, some at NFL headquarters <cough>Kensil<cough> leaked false information about the PSI numbers to the media. There's a bunch of other shady stuff by the league in the interim, but, months later, the results of the NFL directed investigation bear out the narrative they created in the first place. How is it that everyone's reaction, including the investigative reporters in the sports media, to this is "Oh, well. What are you gonna do?"

...Then Sportstalk radio morphed into criticism of Dombrowski and whether or not the RS were built for the postseason, time to change the station again..

It drives me crazy how sports radio in this town is *****ing about how the farm system is void of talent when this team is on a pace to win 112 games.

Tried again to listen to sportstalk over the weekend.. and some guy was whining about is this team "built" for the offseason?? It seems that the intent of sportstalk is no longer to inform, but to push some whacked out attention seeking host who only wants controversy.
Thanks to Dumbrowski, the Sux' farm system, like its pitching staff, is Garbage. Sorry not sorry, but that Fact is indisputable.
And this team, including its "all-star" starters, hasn't done a damn thing in the post-season. So questioning whether it is built for the post-season is completely valid, and those who discuss such matters are totally justified in discussing them, as opposed to the gutless little tool that is Dale Arnold.

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming...

So let's protect the farm system and it's crappy prospects just because we aren't sure this team will succeed in the post season.

Spoken like true Sox fan

I hope we win the WS

...but you're still right

Are you a frequent listener of Mazarotti, Felger, Bertram and the rest of the conspiracy theorists on sportstalk radio???

You need to qualify your post in the "past post season"... as we do not know what is going to happen, as for me I am enjoying this unprecedented ride..

Pitching staff is garbage?? That needs qualification for a team that has the 2nd best ERA in MLB and the 4th best BAA in MLB...

I saw the games, and this bullpen sucks. Maybe there's hope fot it now that Pomeranz is thankfully no longer in the rotation. But the right-handed crap-fest of Hembree, Kelly & Thornburg still exist...and Kimbrel's BB & HR numbers are downright scary.

Moving Price there would go a long way to fixing all that (except Kimbrel) if he can come close to what he did last year.

Do you think that is feasible for a guy who is guaranteed 120+ million over the next 4 years?? Who would want him at that salary?? Who would you replace him with??

Then there is the loss of what many consider a quality pitcher, how would you replace him???

This is sportstalk radio fueled, and never made any sense.. he does not like or get along with the inane Boston press therefore get rid of him.. makes no sense to me.

“We weighed the balls,” Kensil told him. “You are in big ******* trouble.”

LOL. "Weighed the balls". I heard this 100 times during the whole kerfuffle. Is the general public really this scientifically ignorant? How does a certified moron like Kensil become the VP of anything?

How is the book? Worth buying / reading?

No. The only revelation was the deal Brady didn't take (which you guys have broken down as not as selfless an act as it might first appear).

They interviewed the Krafts, Brady (nothing on Deflategate from him, only on the 2016 season, so pretty blah), the two NFLPA lawyers, then a bunch of players about Brady. They didn't talk to Goodell, Belichick (in one interview they said they didn't even try) or the ball boys. They talked to nobody in the scientific community, and only mention the science when talking about The Wells Report in Context. They softpedal Kraft's concession and try to resuscitate his public standing, and they lionize the lawyers. They have both Goodell and Belichick as villains, and throw Don Yee under the bus for telling Brady not to trust Wells with his phone.

What's troubling is they run with the conventional wisdom set by some of the reporting over the years. They believe McNally and Jastremski DID tamper with the balls. They believe Wickersham's report that Kraft ordered Belichick to trade Garoppolo (despite Curran, Howe and Daniels saying that report was wrong). They say Spygate was very serious, and Belichick should have been suspended for it. And the BS Goodell-looking-for-a-daddy-surrogate was as unsupported as it was nauseating.

A good ten chapters of the book are backstory of the principals. Yawn. It's the kind of book you write when you're on a tight deadline and trying to get it produced as a movie. And even with all the science extracted, it's still gonna be a deadly dull movie.

Well, I was furious with Kraft after Deflategate, and I don't even play the game, nor was my reputation being besmirched by a total tool named Roger Goodell. No surprises here for me.

yeah, Spygate was "serious!" alright...especially after Mangini had TWO cameras field level that preseasoin and BB told him to move them. Ratdell did exactly ZERO about that but *presto*...Fredo gave up his mentor a month later? I'd say that was serious alright...serious enough for a fed investigation, indictment and incarceration of that scumbag little rich boy moron, Roger Dulldell

What a heap of garbage.

Which most morons across the country believe and agree with.

Please take care of yourself.

Because in 2021, that investigation is *on*. Could use you as an advisor/consultant.

And, when it finally comes time to put Goodell out of his misery, you totally get to throw the switch.

Payback's a *****.
