If you're looking to replace one of the guards w/ Wynn, I'd look towards Thuney before Mason.

His lack of size really worries me. Mason's probably going to walk next year anyway, so I say give Wynn a shot at guard and see what he can do.

I am surprised that Van Noy can’t be that cover guy at LB. Maybe he can get better.
Van Noy hardly if ever had coverage responsibilities in college, and probably not much in Detroit before he was traded here either, so he's already improved in that regard. How much more he can improve is unknown, but he'll never remind anyone of Roman Phifer.

What happened to him?

Probably a cut on his head. Earlier tweet said he came off the field and teammates were looking around his eye. Later tweet mentioned a bloody towel. I imagine a story would have broke by now if it was serious.

I’d like to see Wynn replace Mason at guard. Brown-Thuney-Andrews-Wynn-Cannon would compete as one of the best OLs out there.
You're nuts if you mean this year?

Every NEP fan should be hoping Brown is motivated, healthy & kicks a few lbs so he can be our starting LT. Those issues have been preventing him from reaching his full potential & becoming a more well rounded player.

I remember bringing up Thuneys weight a while back & finally others are noticing it. If he can move to C fine but our most talented guys are Cannon, Mason, Brown & Wynn. We want all 4 out there.

This is wonderful to hear. I was touting his quick, powerful-choppy feet all last year. Everything starts there for him.

He's gone be a stud. Get on board.

Wasn’t it Tom Coughlin who told Tiki Barber “Keep it high and tight?” How hard can it be?

If a guy has become accustomed to maintaining his balance by keeping both arms loose all the way through high school and college without be corrected, it can be a difficult habit to break.

Agree. Exploiting Edelman as a punt returner might be disastrous in its result. His main duty is to be a slot WR. Speaking of Dorsett I was talking many times that he would be very useful player after Archer's departure. Of course I do not mean Cooks' production ( or maybe ) but Dorsett is destined to be a very competitive in the Pats system especially because if his speed. Being on the same page with Brady during the camp sounds optimistic.

The aspect of Dorsett's game that I liked best last year was his blocking. Seriously. He blocked DBs and even LBs on the second level on run plays, in addition to blocking downfield on passes that other guys caught. He blocks with good positioning, technique and timing. And he's not quite as aggressive as Edelman or DA, but he's certainly not shy about it. It's probably why he was on the field for so many snaps, even though he wasn't targeted often.

Of course, he wasn't pancaking anybody - just delaying them for a step or two. That's often all it takes to make a play successful.

If Dorsett can catch around 35 of 50 targets for 450 yds and 3-5 TDs this season, he'll be a worthy #3/#4 WR.

I have missed the aspect of blocking by Dorsett but If you say so I believe it is his advantage.Yeah, about 500 yards would be fair enough for me treating him as a backup WR.

that edelman question to brady was relevant. and brady just left.

funny stuff.
It was actually Shank Shaughnessy-style trolling and baiting. If Guerrero had any documented history with PEDs, it might have been relevant. But, to my. knowledge, he doesn't. Shank wrote a column following Edelman being busted in which virtually assured everyone it was Guerrero. Scuzzbag...

"Everybody blocks" is kinda one of BB's requirements, even for WRs.

Actually, 500 yds is about the average for the 3rd WR in the Pats offense. Given that the Pats run a fairly significant number of 3WR sets, Dorsett wouldn't be a "backup WR" at that production level.

You are right but it depends. I assume Hogan is our outside WR and Edelman plays slot. The question is who is gonna be a second outside WR? In that scenario I am curious what will happen with Matthews who is a nominal slot WR. What role is predicted for Patterson - just a KR or maybe another useful WR? And Dorsett - of course he can stretch the field,he has got speed but he can also play slot. It is all like reading the tea leaves. My bottom line is in this season our offence might be balanced more than ever with no particular WR leader.

For the six cb’s that make our roster, it is going to be survival of the best after a whale of a competition.

I am impressed at how the rookies look so comfortable in coverage to this point.

I thought McCourty would be our 2nd CB without a doubt but maybe I was wrong. I am glad rookies are in great shape.

CP has been a solid 3rd WR his whole career for the most part. I expect (assuming he gets it) that the trend will continue or be better with the Brady factor. If he gets snaps but there is a ton of depth there.

#3 WRs who are taking regular snaps are usually in the 400-500 range. Thats it.

If your third wide out is putting up more numbers than that then you either have a 2007 Pats situation that set records and had minimal TE contribution or your team is probably too one-dimensional.

I know the steelers have had it - got a lot of production from Bryant and Juju behind Brown but their TEs dont do much.

The key is getting more balance with RB and TE chipping in so your team is multidimensional. That is much harder to stop. Our 3rd WR could have 200 yards but it could be a great season because the yards were spread around.
