Didnt your imaginary friend inside the walls of 1 Patriot Drive tell you?
I have no clue what that even means. Are you off your meds?

THAT is why it doesn't matter to most if they get it wrong as long as they are first, because there is no CONSEQUENCE for being wrong, just being second.
'
Tell that to Ron BORGes.

But the whole thing with Reddit, other reporters who have taken shots and been wrong, etc. That's really the frustrating part and it makes it tough to make sense of what's true and what isn't. And that's what puts us in this position when things like this come out.

In this instance I have no empathy for the fools that stubbed their toes on it, particularly PFT. I understand media hysteria started driving the bus but if as a 'journalist' you don't pause and ask yourself if something at least passes the smell test then whatever comes next is on you. Look at the reddit thing for more than a few seconds and it reeked to high heaven even as it was starting. The reddit troll was anointed as the initial 'source' for the report of Edelman's suspension even though a cursory search would have shown other sources reported it earlier. Hell, it was posted here 10-12 hours before it was on reddit. Next the guy comes out with "I'm the guy that broke the news...and there's more coming...guess what it is." Now ask yourself, would a legit source invite speculation? I'm an engineer and none of it passed my sniff test, it smelled like BS out of the gate even to my less than journalistic olfactory senses. PFT took no small delight in seeing that fraud Borges turning on the spit, now that they've been 'Nick in Boston-ed' their silence is deafening.

I think you just have to be second and be good at being second with good analysis and superior syntax. Being thoughtful like you are, Ian, is a benefit not a hindrance no matter what industry-imposed deadlines are telling you.

I don't why someone thinks that this post is funny. KDP posted the PED suspension the day before it was announced, and noted that he had a good source.

My source broke the edelman suspension 24 hours before it was announced.

I was looking for the location stamp on Linda's post when I posted earlier, hoping to find some legit proof they were in NY. It's odd that it's not there now, which is why I thought initially it wasn't the correct account. But this whole thing is just bizarre.

I’m rooting for Belichick. I like and believe in discipline because it’s good for everyone. Selfishness and self-centered ness is never excuseable.

There’s a reason the Patriots have been the most disciplined team on and off the field and it’s named Belichick

I'm nobody of consequence, but I agree the issue of being first is the biggest problem. Now we always have to wonder what's true and what isn't. I don't remember it being like this before social media, but that's obviously the world we live in now

I’ve had this on my mind lately, figure it’d be a good time to ask...

Did Dan Shaughnessey play the New Year Baby on the Rudolph special way back in the day? I need answers

The worst thing is even the subjects of the story are now using social or “no standards” media to manipulate the story as we’ve seen just recently down in Philadelphia with the Bryan Colangelo fiasco. My bet is that’s not an isolated incident.

So, as for yesterday’s whirlwind, we really don’t know whether there was some truth to the rumors and the “nothing to see here “ narrative was an intentional manipulation to sweep it under the rug. Or, the initial rumors were fabricated with the subsequent denials being factual. In this age, the truth is not the truth but rather the truth is what you can convince people it is.

Parsing together what is truthful is damn near impossible so, mostly, we just believe what we want to believe. Two things I try to determine when looking for the truth in the “no standards” media manure is what is the motivation of the source(s) and the diversity of the sources.

Yesterday’s would-be bombshell was widely rumored by a variety of media members both locally and nationally which means there appears to have been a buzz among sources outside of the Patriots perhaps including sources from other organizations involved in the trade negotiations.

As someone who just wants the drama over and football to begin, I did not take what happened yesterday nor today’s reports that Brady will not attend next week’s voluntary OTAs as a good sign the drama is over just yet.

Don’t be fooled. All of my possessions would be out on the sidewalk if Rob Gronkowski ever stepped foot in the neighborhood. She’d literally find a way to sniff him out.

Sadly, I’m somehow accepting of this.

You could probably negotiate some sort of open marriage thing. :p

It's probably a matter of degree elsewhere. Our little team that couldn't went from locally lovable losers to The Evil Empire during the same time period electronic media has taken off.

That's the main reason for the hatred. Normally Cinderella is supposed to get 15 minutes of fame (sorry for mixing metaphors) and then go back to her regular life. The Patriots decided "Nah, we'll stick around for a decade or two."
