I'm witnessing the wanton destruction of written English, real-time.

its all starting to make sense. that's why he benched butler

Overpaid: 15 NFL Free Agents Who Got Way Too Much Money This Off-Season

8 Malcolm Butler:
Butler was one of the Patriots best defenders and he must of done something to warrant a benching because Nick Foles shredded the Patriots secondary all game long and he probably could have prevented some of that. That benching made it certain that Butler was going to a new team this offseason, but no one expected his new team to break the bank for him. Butler has a reputation for being one of the best cover corners in the league based on his stellar performance in years prior, but last season was one of his worst seasons as a professional.

Heh ........ 407+

makes zero sense to push the myth that Butler was bad last year. He was the starting corner when the Pats gave up the fewest points in the league from weeks 5-17, only giving up 14/game. The front7 was bad last year and Butler in the secondary was a big part of their good defense.

Well in this game they decided to make the defensive front AND the secondary a liability.

I love that people still disagree that the defensive gameplan was bad.

It didn't even remotely work, and people are still just drooling on themselves and shouting "it was just the execution!!!"

Playing poorly is always bad execution. Any game plan works if you execute.
Analyzing a game plan is more complicated than bad result = bad game plan.

Please produce posts from before the Super Bowl where you advocated having Bademosi on the field at all over Butler.

He earned this money after playing for peanuts as an undrafted free agent with the Patriots. Could he have been had for less? Who knows? Proven corners are hard to come by.

Butler's 5-year deal is a good one for a starting CB at his age for the Titans. $24 million guaranteed up front. Another $6M guaranteed in year 3 of the deal to keep his attention to what matters. The Titans can get out after year three for $4 million dead money.

Malcolm Butler

The Patriots were never going to do a deal like that with Butler.

I'm rooting for him to excel in Tennessee. One of the greatest plays in New England sports history. I have his interception right up there with Dave Roberts' stolen base against the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS to make the comeback possible.

All due respect to Dave Roberts his steal has a special place in my heart but Butler's INT is on a whole other level.

I’m not. The guy makes far less mistakes than other coaches but he DOES make them. There you go. Now let’s see those posts.

Roberts steal was big, but how many times over the years did we have a runner on 2nd against Rivera with no outs and come up empty? Pro’s hit has always gotten the shaft - but that was THE moment, at least for me.

I don't think anyone was advocating that then, nor are they doing that now.

I pretty sure everyone is in agreement that BB is the best coach. The discussion is how the best coach of all time, somehow managed to throw the superbowl for "reasons"
