Opinions regarding our team logo

I still don't get where you're coming from, saying I should work in the commissioner's office because I like the Flying Elvis logo.

I have no clue what Elvis has to do with thinking you should be working in the league office but I think it would be great if you did. Not only could the Pats use a friend there but all the jeten Jete boys that work there would need to wear brown pants every day to hide what you'd be making them do in them.

If anyone is curious where this is coming from these are actual APF posts:

the destruction of our identity, specifically our logo and uniforms, along with the corresponding fantasy that the franchise's first 33 years are worthy of being buried like Nazi fascism, the ultimate insult not only to alumni but also to the real, loyal, genuine fans of generations who have since been denied the simple right to at least watch their team play out on the field, and root for them, win or lose, without the players being re-costumed in ugly, inappropriate space suits.

Your description is exactly the kind of positive, detailed and articulate justification that was promulgated at its inception, ignoring the fact it's ugly and insulting to the team and its fans.

Maybe it's not fair, it just sounded like the rhetoric used to justify the 'Gates

OK I admit I was mad when I posted that...

To me, the major difference in the traditional logos of the Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers, Packers, and Browns is the fact that they had the same logos when they established a winning tradition. I think we all agree the current Dolphins logo sucks and they should have stuck with the older, established, winning logo. I don't think anyone would think the Buccaneers should return to the god awful Bucco Bruce logo. (not that their current logo is anything to write home about) Elvis is the Patriots logo that everyone will always associate with winning. Pat Patriot, while historical, didn't win ****.

I said earlier, give me the red jerseys and F.E.

The Dallas Cowboys

The San Francisco 49ers

So that's what all those guys are doing at the start of every play from the line of scrimmage...

View attachment 20399The media love to propagate the team's "futility", like in 1981...no one ever mentions that was the single losing season in a stretch of 13 years...meanwhile, the Packers did zero for 25 years between Lombardi and Favre, and the Giants were by far the worst team in football in the 70's, etc.

THIS is the logo representing the futility of debunking all the media, league, and opponents' B.S. regarding the Patriots and expecting them to ever admit their ignorance and stupidity, let alone stop making statements as "fact" which are preposterous

Was that supposed to be an attempt at humor or something?

Yup, futility. It doesn't strike fear into the hearts of opponents, unlike the old pasty logo.

Its not surprising you would want to align yourself so closely to a uniform what won nothing. But there are really two issues here.

1. Anyone can like/dislike either logo for any reason. Its totally subjective.

2. Anyone here that would actually try to make an argument that this current uniform/era, whatever you want to call it somehow dosent posses any history (or connection) tradition or PRIDE? PRIDE? Is a total clown.

What you are doing is basically ****ting on all things this franchise has done since 94, and worse disrespecting the franchise, the players and most importantly the fans - particularly the passionate ones who post here.

You have this funking ridiculous elitist attitude about how YOUR patriots were the historic real Pats with all the pride and tradition and this new era dosent count.

Well you know what? You are a loser. You can feel whatever you like, but anyone who had the nerve to come on here and pull this crap is a real POS. I was around for the old uniforms too and all this whole thing was in 1994 was a ****ing uniform and logo update. If you are that mentally unstable about a logo then you need more help than I originally thought.

Big Fuking deal! Get a God Damn life you imbecile. You must have absolutely nothing good going on in your life to be either this bothered by a fuking logo or be this obsessed about anything and at the same time be so obnoxious about it.

Classless dork.

Clearly the old logo was holding us back......

That being said, I liked Pat. But the Flying Elvis inspires such immediate heated emotion whenever I wear it around here (Northern Plains) that I hope they never go away from it.

Do it with white helmets and I'd go along. The red jerseys/white pants unis are sweet enough I'd make that compromise to get them back.

Another old hero lost too soon

With Andy Johnson, we beat the crap out of the best teams.

They went home losers to us and our real helmets and uni's.

That is the fact. The truth. Reality.

Also if you think its even remotely cool to equate the pats new uniforms to the nazi's and the holocaust, then you are as big a clown as him.

You are right, the new logo'd teams never beat the crap out of anyone like the old logo'd teams

What were we all thinking?

This writer is entitled to his opinion, but his criteria seems to be heavily weighted to favor old logos and he just has nostalgic leanings that come off as narrow minded.

Many top brands (Apple, Pepsi, Google, Starbucks, etc.) update, evolve, or redesign their logos over the years. It’s standard practice and typically backed by sound design principles that would be lost on this guy.

Still surprised that we don’t have a couple of games every year where the throwbacks are pulled out. As many have mentioned, you can still keep the current helmets. Maybe now that they’ve scrapped those blue alternates (which I liked), they’ll break out the old red or whites, again.

You attitude is disgraceful and disrespectful to everyone no matter how you try to spin it.

Now you are just trying to move goalposts, tap dance and strawman your way out of it while staying the course. As if Krafty Bob wouldnt have done or not done whatever he did or did not do (according to you) if the team had the old uniform?

Shut the fuk up already.

His schtick is harmless and at times funny.

That's what I would like to see.

Sometimes, sure.

But I do not, for example, agree with the idea that all United States servicemen from 1776-1899 sucked and were lousy and less heroic and loyal and less worthy of honor and respect than those since, or that the flag they all fought under is outdated, historically inaccurate and in need of replacement.

Thats where Pat the Patriot comes in.

He fought in 1776. Basically, he is a hero to the whole country. Then, replaced by an old man whose face cracked and fell off.
