Official 2018 Draft Day Thread Day Two

BB drafts defense heavily. He just misses. 2011 is the last time this team drafted offense first, prior to getting Wynn.

Every team misses. Not every team wins 5 SBs. B.B. doesn’t play an aggressive defense which is what the fans want. He’s drafted one of the best offensive linemen, one of the best RBs and arguably the best slot corner. Throw in a w2019 2nd, an OT Von Miller calls the best in the league and a bunch of other players with his 2018 draft picks. And that’s with a day still to go.

Is it your position that he couldn't have traded up to get one of those players at some point in the draft?

Sure they could have done so. Given basically no defensive players came off the board before they picked at 43, they had their pick of everyone though. I'm simply asking in the 2nd round who were the defensive front seven players who were going to come in and beat someone out? Because people are talking like Bill has ignored the D but haven't really answered this question.

By the by, proving my skills as an evaluator are absolutely awful, Ronnie Harrison is still available and only 15 picks from reaching us. He was one of my binkies. Don't see us taking him now we took Dawson by anyway.

You jinxed it.

That is certainly true of Rivers, but every player we draft this year as well is nothing until they're something.

Sure, but telling people to relax because of a bunch of question marks from other teams, or former draftees who spent their only NLF year on IR is every bit as silly as people panicking on day two of the draft.

As for Shelton, a lot of the reason he is here is because Cleveland has a new GM and new defensive scheme which he doesn't fit into.

Shelton has been a pretty big disappointment in 2 of his 3 seasons. The team is hoping that the one better year is what they'll get out of him in New England. There's nothing wrong with that hope, but hope is what it is.

Carter from UGA and UT hammer Malik Jefferson are immediate starters over KVN and Elandon “I can’t make a tackle to save myself” Roberts

Fair points.

The question sets up a built in "nuh uh" response, so why should anyone answer it? "The kid from B.C.!" "Nah, too ________, or BB would have gotten him", etc....

In the end, it just becomes the fallacy of the appeal to authority. There were players available. The team chose not to draft them. Some people disagree. This is normal. Historically, the people will be right on some, and the team will be right on some. We've seen a whole lot of this with regards to round two picks, as a matter of fact.

We were better off going Jackson and not making the trades. No need to overthink this. We wasted an opportunity

Interesting division they have there. I don’t think Jags make it back to the playoffs.

You easily could be right. Luck and Watson coming back from injury. Tennesse seems to be going in right direction. It won't be the cakewalk it was last season.

What a joke of a draft plan. This draft, from the Patriots perspective reminds me of when I ask my wife to pick up beer at the supermarket and she comes back with ziplock bags and eggs.

One of these keeps the household running, and the other just gives you a hangover. :p

Nothing can top an abysmal draft format like adding Poncho to it.

Well if there was a player to team pick it’s Harrison Phillips to buffalo. The new Kyle Williams

It’ll be interesting if Curran is right about Johnny Football coming to town. Maybe they feel good about him.
