Will we have any semblance of it next year? Because it’s looking like QB’s will be sipping cups of tea in the pocket again next year. No one will be afraid of this pass rush as it stands. Guys like Trey Flowers are nice players, and even decent starters at that. But no one is going to lose sleep over guys like him. O-lines like Philly will only continue to dominate us.

I’m frustrated that this has a chance of being Brady’s last season, and he will possibly be having to drop 40 in big games against teams with legit offenses. You can say that the right guys didn’t fall to us, but we were well equipped in picks to trade up to acquire the right guy. So I don’t buy that as an excuse here.

This team needed to become more balanced on offense vs. defense. Have we filled that divide? We did upgrade the run defense, but I think we have failed to address the pass rush. You take Hightower away from this front seven, and it remains extremely weak on top end talent.

I’m not going to knock the picks we made in round 1, as they filled offensive needs. But man, I am not a fan of what we have done today.

Agree..pass rushing is a huge concern. Opposing QBs lick their chops when they play us

There are a number of talented rushers on the roster. Few of them played in the last game and your mind is tricking you into thinking they don’t exist

What makes it worse it that they haven't addressed getting a LB that can cover anybody. Hightower coming back is not enough and he'll have to be used more in coverage because they have nobody else. They can't address every need early but I agree that they need to address this with the next pick. I really wanted the Pats to get Nwosu from USC who would've been a game wrecker in the run and pass game. I don't really like relying on Derek Rivers and Wise Jr. taking a leap in year 2.

If you aren't moving forward, you're losing ground. Clayborn and Shelton are holding the line, but otherwise we're depending on a low 3rd who was injured all year, a castoff from the Bills and another low round 2nd year player.

Barring injury, full of question marks. With injuries, we're using waiver wire players. I don't care about the draft but hopes and dreams don't make a defense. Secondary could be strong.

Who would you have added?
Lorenzo Carter, Sam Hubbard, multiple guys that would have been ideal. I get the the Titans swooped in on Landry, but we easily could have moved up a couple spots for him. We had plenty of capital to be aggressive.

In the FA period I also would have liked a more aggressive movement towards a pass rusher in either FA or the trade market. Clayborn is ok but has been very inconsistent in his career.

Carter was all about upside (which I liked) but he isn’t a ready made pass rusher yet. Hubbard is still on the board. And are either of them better than Rivers?

They should think about drafting a guy like this...

Or a guy like this?

Point is we have no idea about how his talent will translate to the league. Plus the dude went to Youngstown state. That’s weak competition that he’s facing in that video.

I’m hoping that he can really be something for us, but I’m sure not wanting to rely on it.

So the same as any draft pick then? Except with this one, we’ve already spent the resource.
