How Focused is Gronk?

He knows the rampant speculation on his relationship with Bill. He has addressed other items on the team this off season, he could address this rather than just let it fester in the public's eye. To me he is standing off with a smirk on his face.

You don't think NE can't fetch a late 1st for him?
Right now no. Retirement talk plus injury issues make him toxic. We might be able to get a late 1st but it would be like Gronk and a 3rd for a late 1st. He’s lowered his trade value imo below what makes it worth it for the Patriots. If he goes somewhere else and plays 5 years he’s going to make more of an impact there than whatever the sum of what we got in a trade will make.

Toxic? Wrong word. Teams need clarification on his status and medical outlook.

I believe Bill would deal him for a low 1st.

Only Gronk could give them that. And in that scenario he could be very selective about where he’s traded.

If Belichick trades him any other team is going to realize its because he wants him gone more so to get rid of him than to acquire fair value. Combine that with his injury history and the uncertainty over whether he wants to retire and I wouldn’t be shocked if all Bill got was a mid 2nd. Which would be an abomination.

No way the Patriots get anywhere near Gronk's market value. All the other
teams have to do is wait it out until Belichick blows his top and practically
gives him away for pennies on the dollar for the good of the team.

Market value meaning what?

If there are several teams that want Gronk the scenario you outly is wrong.

This is where belichick earns even more greatness if he holds everything together. The greatest coaches find a way just like red Auerbach and Phil Jackson holding together a team with huge egos. Gronk is like the Rodman of football
Do not ever use the names Red Auerback and Phil Jackson in the same sentence. Phil couldn't carry Red's jockstrap. He didn't keep Shaq and Kobe together nor were social issues the same. How is Gronk like Rodman? Is Gronk headed to North Korea? Rodman was a great defensive player, but not one of the greatest. Yes, they like to party, but the comparison ends there.

Gronk exactly the same as Rodman. No he won’t go to North Korea because gronks less of a statesman however, if gronk shows up somewhere in a wedding gown. No one will be surprised. Or if he goes and humps Oprah’s ear

Your estimation of rodman is flawed. Not one of the greatest ever eh? He’s on the list of fifty greatest basketball players ever. Nuff said! Next?

Oh and to send you on your way bro. Phil has more rings than red. Period... I’ll say whatever I like. Free speech and all that

I see you disagreed. Look it up. Info is regularly available on google. Phil Jackson has more rings and as you do elloquently pointed out, he had tougher social issues and crazier players

it almost feels like gronk just hit his terrible two's and is lashing out like a toddler who wasn't given a candy bar at the store.

Red Auerbach coached and was the GM in the 1960s. He faced social issues larger and tougher than Jackson ever did.

I disagree. Are you implying that those issues went away? I assure you that time has exacerbated all issues

Of course I actually lived in the Times we speak of. If you believe social issues have become easier, it’s clear you did not. Education is more important than I thought

Tougher issues then pre-civil rights conditions and a superstar not afraid to speak his mind? Not even debating this one.

Not really......if someone pays gronk, and they will, gronk doesn’t get hurt
He’d be missing out on catching passes from one of his best friends and greatest QB of all time. That could potentially be a negative that is seen. If he goes to say, the Tampa Bay Bucs, Cincinnati Bengals, etc, his production could decline.
