Last night at 8:50, I poured myself a nice glass of bourbon, cleared Mrs. Rover out of the TV room, and settled into the comfy chair (the comfy chair?!?!). Had my iPhone handy for following along.

I tuned to the NFL Network for the next ten minutes, not paying much attention... then at 8:58pm up came a promo... the draft starts Thursday April 26th.

That is to say... NEXT Thursday. NOT last night. As I thought it did.



Kids... one piece of advice... don't get old.

Seriously though I hate that they moved it back this far. Or did they move it to May for a year and brought it back to April? I don't know. Whatever it is, it's way too damn late and makes for a seriously slow offseason. Draft is about a week or two too late

there is a reason i don't buy pay per views of fights. one punch(kick/takedown/whatever) and its over.

Yes, it's back to the time of year it used to be. My wedding anniversary is coming up; there's video from the wedding day before the ceremony where a buddy was following the draft via phone and told me they just drafted Aaron Hernandez, and I was thrilled and couldn't stop talking about how he'd be a great fit for the team. Oops......

I, too, remember where I was the day we drafted Hernandez. Was at a metal concert in Worcester with my dad.

Actually, I have a whole collection of strangely vivid memories of where I was when insignificant players were drafted. I could tell stories for Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce, Alfonzo Dennard...

I discovered when the draft is only 2 days ago. When you boycott ESPN, NFLN, and live in Dolphin country...it is simple to ease past the offseason with not much care. I recommend it. PatsFans is my only connection...and in truth....what more does one need to get the most up to date and most accurate team info. It all ends up here and the analysis is all-encompassing.
