Felger not feeling well ... LOL

Wonder what the O/U is on Amonte's Felgah induced eye rolls and side ass knowing grins is after a dominant win.

Honestly, coming from an out of towner, wtf does the Boston media have against it's home town teams!? I've always found it comical living in Pittsburgh. The ball washing, cover ups, and straight up non reported stuff involving Pittsburgh athletes is a regular occurrence. Why does Boston media feel the need to exaggerate to the degree they do? Honestly do not understand.

Fellowship of the miserable pays well I guess.

That's insane! Makes me love you guys even more, though! Cause seeing the BS here, and seeing through it makes me appreciate Boston fans, and teams even more.

I watch the games and not the shows ... they seldom get my attention.
I enjoy all my local teams and have a healthy respect that competition is fierce.
I have enjoyed a wealth of championships here ... nothing to complain about.
Waiting for my New England Revolution to join the local party ...

I guess it depends what you mean by a generational talent. I'm not saying they don't have one but it's really early to assume that. When I say generational talent I mean someone who is one of the top 3-4 players over the next 15 years that can be their franchise guy.

You don't automatically need such a player to have a dynasty but it sure helps.

Maybe Charlie McAvoy or Pastrnak can be that guy but idk. Personally I don't think Pastrnak can. He is reaching just about his full potential right now which is very good but not an all time great IMO. Still very happy to have him on the team.

Top 3-4 over the next 15 years is beyond generational, it is all-time type status.
Don't go to sleep on Donato, he has all the tools and then some. I saw him play at Dexter and Harvard, he is special. I played collegiate hockey and I'm still a hardcore puckhead. I've seen a lot of hockey at just about every level and that kid has 'it' in a big way.

I'm envious! I'd give anything to be there, with you guys. It's you against the world...and your media! Everyone should be holding the accomplishments up, not tearing them down. I may not be there, but I'm repping! Pittsburgh IS BOSTON on my street. We rock the flags, and sport the gear.

Doubt Wingels will go next game will be interesting if it's Gionta or Donato.
We have some nice depth watching from the 9th floor.

Felgah is a charter member, he did as much as anyone to 'popularize' it here.

I like the way they pumped the brakes and resisted temptation by having Donato watch tonight. He has come quite far very quickly. I hope they remain patient with him, he has it in him to be truly special. He sees the whole sheet in a way few players do.

So not including Donato in a McDonaugh trade was a win? If that was a deal breaker.

Donato was off the table, guaranteed. They drafted him virtually the moment he became eligible in 2014, he had just finished his senior year of HS 3 weeks before the draft. Virtually no one knew who he was but the B's took no chances and used their second round pick (56 overall) on him after taking Pasternak in the first round. The only reason he continued playing at the prep school level for a couple of years and went on to Harvard is he was painfully thin, it took him a while to fill out.

Felcher the ****face is NOT a New Englander...he's a shyt punk midwestern, northeast hating little punk. I fart in his general direction.

I was concerned about Toronto's speed...still am. They probably should have had a couple more goals. In which case it would have been a completely different game. Tuuka turned in a good one though, thankfully.

How would my methods translate to hockey?

This thread answers your question. Consider this:

There are 2 afternoon sports radio hosts on competing stations. Dale Arnold, who works for the Bruins telecast, is very knowledgeable, very fair minded and does a very good job. OK he might be a little homerish, but not egregiously so. Michael Felger is a miserable troll who will criticize anything and everything, no matter what happens.

So..... which one of those radio personalities was mentioned in something like 10 posts in this thread, and which one hasn't been mentioned once (until my post right here)?

The answer to the questions about Boston media is that it's a combination of agenda and audience, and that extends beyond just the sports media. Felger, just to point to an easy example, couldn't get an audience when he tried playing it somewhat straight. Felger got a huge audience when he decided to play the trolling douche.

Living in the same town as you, I’ve always wondered the same thing, particularly since all of the media members, cops, etc are constantly on the ****s of anything Steelers related. It’s ridiculous.

Absolutely agree. The contrast is night and day.

They had a great 2nd period ... clearly won possession but came up empty which hurt them.
Their power play possession was great ... but no goals.

The Bruins dominated the game so much that it looked like they were on the power play for most of the game.

The Boston media is only happy when the local teams are losing.

Winning is not what its cracked up to be and is the worst thing that could happen for the sports news/ talk business. Boston is a negative town. Its only a matter of time before something bad happens to its sports teams. Despair over the Red Sox is great print. Losing to the Yankees is how its supposed to be. The Boston sports media are waiting like buzzards for Brady and Belichick to show signs of losing their edge.
