Guregian on the Gronk/Belichick "beef".

I'm neither a believer nor a non-believer when it comes to Guerrero. I can think of other NYFL players who have had long careers and never met the man or used his methods, especially QB's but not limited to those.

No question...

When it comes to humans, both regarding psychology and physiology, there are few absolutes that actually hold up as absolutes.

I can see BBs point.

This Avocado Doctor is undermining the Patriots training and medical staff. What if Gronk was supposed to come in for physical therapy, but skipped the session because Alex told him to drink dingle berry juice instead?

Cant run a team like that.

I highly doubt Gronk did anything like that. Based on all reports, he’s been nothing but a consummate pro with this team.

damn my eyes...I know what post hoc ergo propter hoc means...not because of my 6 years of Latin...but because of THIS board...I gotta get out more
On't-day eave-lay Oker-Jay!

Part of being a great coach/leader--which Belichick of course is--is navigating stuff like this. I think it's really as simple as he hasn't handled this nearly as deftly as he could. And it honestly doesn't seem to be that difficult of a situation.

Who would’ve guessed years ago that a personal trainer would be the one to start the cracks in the Patriots dynasty.....

How mundane.

I dont think even Guerrero will say you won't ever get injured. But maybe get injured less often is the goal.

As a redhead (Neanderthal DNA) I just want his magic solution to prevent sunburn

I’ve been neutral on this forum to the whole Brady/Guerrero/Gronk v. BB. Hoping eventually story would just go away & football would be talked about more around here (Kudos to Mgteich for sparking football discussion).

Now I’m getting annoyed.

Brady may have had the best age-adjusted season in sports history. Gronk played the whole season and his circus ground catch vs. Pitt does not happen without Guerrero’s methods. Now Alex is attempting to save Malcolm Mitchell’s career.

Maybe just cool it Bill for a minute & let the trainer who’s assisting in us having the two best players on the best offense on the field playing at their best do his work with the offensive skill guys? Worry about the defense.

Right on the money

Maybe if Bill is so worried about how Gronk is playing in training camp, he should take the same attitude with the defense playing like a horror show the first quarter of the season.

You're right. Going 11-1 after a 2-2 start and ending up at 13-3 is inexcusable. Fire the bastard! Good god, what idiocy...

Well, it hasn't. Brady just played at an MVP level at age 40 and Gronk finished the season (aside from the Church hit). It's too bad Edelman tore his ACL, because we could also judge his work as well. Next year, we'll get to watch Edelman and Mitchell in their respective comebacks.

I'm amazed at the constant hits Brady takes sometimes and how he keeps popping back up. If I was coach I'd be firing my witch doctor training staff and hiring Guerrero's crew.

It’s not exactly a perfect record. Both Hightower and Edelman worked with Guerrero and ended up on IR.
They have to stick to the diet.

This thread makes me think of this song...

Every time this vid comes up I end up watching it at least twice. Hot women, great lyrics, superb choreography. It never fails to warm the soul of this old fart. ;)

As to this OP - I see it different than some.

From what I can gather, this happened in TC or very early in the season. Gronk was playing poorly or at least below his standards (which makes me believe it was during TC). And Bill does what he does. He doesn't call out some camp fodder, he calls out the guys who should know better. If you are familiar with Bill's dry humor and digs, it seems perfectly in character to call out Gronk and bait him with the Guerrero new age method. I bet it was half tongue in cheek and half what he was feeling at the time.

Who knew that Gronk was such a wooosss. He's been coddled by this team more than anyone over the year, certainly much more than Brady ever was, and if these reports are true, I am really disappointed with him. I expect a lot more from him.

Again, if true, given him some more money in incentives.....or not. Ride him hard this season, which I hope its his best, then, quite frankly, allow him to "be free". Better a year too early than a year too late, or whatev.er cliche you want to pull out. But the fact is, that (again if true), I wouldn't trust Gronk enough now to pay him what he is going to want to keep playing.

I really think this is less about Guerrero than most of the media and fans think. I think it is more about Bill calling out one of his stars and happened to use Guerrero as a needle, and the star didn't take it well. Well too bad.

I don't credit Bill with any blame in this. He was being true to his nature and his well proven philosophy of team building. Where I might offer some constructive criticism, if he is listening, is that I would have had a sit down with Gronk this off season to attempt to iron it out, man to man. OR at least tell him to toughen the f*ck up and stop being such a millennial. ;)

Unfortunately for the media this subject is more like the title of this video (which not so coincidentally also has hot women, decent lyrics and moderately indecent choreography)

At no point during the season did the Patriot defense resemble a championship defense. There were gash plays all year. Pass defense never really gelled. LB play was subpar - the one area an injury could really be blamed. Rush defense was hit and miss. Mainly we relied on our 40 year-old QB to pull our chestnuts out of the fire week after week. And we were helped by the fact that the AFC basically sucks.

What an ass.
If I were Belichick, given the way the league is always eyeing them for anything that they can even pretend is shady, the last freaking guy in the world I'd want without a thousand light years of my team is that snake oil witch doctor.
