Yeah, but for a 2M difference...wouldn't you rather a healthy Bennett vs. Allen? But another poster here pointed out that Allen had good years in even numbered years...so we will see.

I would, sure, but when has Bennett been healthy, and when will he be healthy again?

Yep!

The only measurable that doesn't vary from what's recorded during the pre-draft process is height. If a guy gets recorded at 6043 at the Senior Bowl, Combine and his pro day, he doesn't suddenly grow to 6'5" just because it says so on a team website.

Conversely, an athlete's weight, especially with guys as big as linemen, may change by 4-8 lbs during the course of one day, depending on how active they are and how diligent they are about staying hydrated.

But n lineman's weight isn't going to change 22 lbs like Stone would have us believe.

So, we have Curran changing what Solder said to the NY Reporter.. Color me not convinced, Maust. But I do appreciate the link..

No, we have you insisting that Solder said something to a New York reporter that Solder never said. He never mentioned the Patriots at all. He mentioned that there were three teams in the mix with "similar" offers...

The reporters then ran with one of those teams being the Patriots, which wasn't the case, according to Curran and others.

Is there such a thing as a healthy Bennett any more?

Yes, at the Senior Bowl...NOT during his college season.
And you know this how?

Plus it doesn’t really matter if he was 293 at the. Sr bowl he can play at 293.
Do we care what he weighed in 2013?

Oh my god.
He didn’t say it to a reporter.
He had a PRESS CONFERENCE.
He says 3 teams offered similar money.
Some person who was at the press conference tweeted that solder said in the press conference the patriots offer was close.
Every other human at the press conference (and the transcript)says he didn’t say that and the tweet was wrong.

It was only ONE reporter who tweeted that. Everyone else in attendance says he didn’t say that.
It wasn’t a private conversation. It was a damn press conference and there are videos and transcripts.

Time to break in a rookie LT... oh boy we better draft the next Matt Light or Solder or Brady will be having some headaches this upcoming season!

That's funny because the NY Reporter(Patricia Traina) has Solder Quoted as saying Giants and Patriots. We have Curran submitting his interpretation after the fact.

Did you actually READ the article posted by Maust?

She even said she'd admit to being wrong if she misunderstood.. And what happened? Jordan Raanan said ZILCH. He offered nothing to prove her wrong.. So she stuck by what she said. When a reporter backs down like that, you know he's in the wrong..

Gotta love that actual facts like considerably better blocking, higher reliability and cheaper contract dont matter. But a joke about a statistical anomaly where a player is supposedly better in even numbered years triggers a "we will see".

I hope that was a joke otherwise you might as well believe in voodoo and all the other esoteric crap.

Perhaps, we've done this with Garcia.

Blockers are dime a dozen. Reliability is pure luck...like Gronk being unreliable. Cheaper contract matters always, but 2M is only 1.1% of the cap nowadays.

Bottom line, I'd like to see Allen be more of a pass catching threat that defenses will have to account for. He was at one time considered a "rising star" in Indy.

For 1.1% more of our cap...we could have kept Marty. Doesn't matter anyway as I believe the Pats would have if he were 100% ready to go...doesn't sound like he is though.

So, Allen or bust it is.....
