Giardi: Patriots Players are Miserable

Except it actually appears to be happening, despite the “laugh it off” attitude of many of our fans, and a good portion of it seems to be stemming from the Alex Guerrero situation.

Unless you missed how the end of Tom’s documentary ended, Gronk’s tweets about being happy and free, the fact that we don’t even know if he’ll be playing or not, Bob Kraft’s comments, and the countless media reports?

I’m not saying that it’s as bad as they’re making it out to be, but you’d have to have your head buried in the sand if you don’t think that something is going on. I don’t think that Belichick changed his MO, but his controlling nature (which is to be expected to some degree) about Guerrero’s role does seem to be very troublesome in terms of how it is affecting our star players—who already feel that they are taking hometown discounts at the moment.

Yeah, as much as I think this whole issue is likely being sensationalized and overblown as the media tends to do, it does seem like there is something here, in some capacity.

This story, regardless of how much is true, is getting really old really fast. Whenever this air-clearing "summit" of RK/BB/TB is supposed to happen, I wish it already would so the media and us fans can move on.

This will stay a story for a while (did the meeting work, will the detente last, how has the meeting impacted the team, etc....), unless BB/Brady/Kraft start publicly giving each other lollypops and blowjobs.

The thing that is concerning to me is not that we’re hearing this from Girardi or Curran or Wickersham or King, but that there are strong hints from Brady and Gronk, themselves. Even Kraft has alluded to discord.

Again, it’s probably not as big as they’re making it out to be, but there’s obviously something going on that is pissing off our two biggest stars and that sucks.

I believe very little of it. Super Bowl loss sting. McDaniels isn' going to the combine - he rarely does - who cares. If Brady had scored on that final drive and we had won a lot of this BS would be gone. Last year we won and everyone said "No days off". This year we lost and work is no fun. Of course work sucks - we lost. Plus Giradi is always saying stupid stuff.

“I’m not feeling appreciated”....IF true, give me a break.
It seems as though these guys are making sacrifices, constantly recovering from serious surgeries and injuries, putting in more time training/practicing/film study than any other stars around the league, and are doing all of this while many other players are getting significantly more money and much better treatment.

Call me crazy, but maybe...they’re not feeling too appreciated at the moment? I mean, Roethlisberger had a secret little man cave built behind his locker, so that he could nap and have privacy. It’s got a TV, speakers, a couch, etc. Many of the new players didn’t even know about it. Other star players want certain days off and missed practices, etc.

Brady and Gronk are unhappy because access to their trainer was taken away—something they need to perform their jobs in a more efficient manner. That doesn’t seem a bit different than the average prima dona complaining about selfish needs?

The media loves piling on. They consider it their job. Amazing how none of these articles appear after winning a Super Bowl.

I miss the days when all the stories you heard were of Brady pal’n it up with his O-Line and just being one of the boys.

And how positive are we that his so called "Source" isn't Choppin Charlie from finance coming off a 4 day bender and fuzzy off bath salts???

Not meaning to take an argumentative stance on this since people will see it both ways, but weren’t there multiple reports during the playoffs, as well as some confirmation from Kraft himself?

To take it one step further, weren’t there a couple of reports that stated that Gronk was considering retirement, as well as 2 reports that came out the day of the SB that said that Brady and/or Belichick retirements were a possibility? The fact that they didn’t win the SB probably isn’t helping, but I don’t see it as the root cause like you’re suggesting, either.

Hell, you see Brady having to go into the upper suites at Gillette just to get treatment from Guerrero in the documentary, and that was mid-January.

Apparently Bill needs to be a bit less stingy with the hugs. Patriot of the Week lollipops for everyone! That, a few million more for Gronk and the return of class clown JE11 ought to do it.

WTF is this? You mean every other season has been "Tra La La!!! Down Sunnybrook Lane We Go!"?. Jeezus krist LOOK at what has changed!!! It's the MEDIA SATURATION. These azzoles are like goddamned hamsters on a treadwheel scrambling to out tweet and out scoop each other 24/7. THEY ARE KILLING ALL SPORTS!

What nonsense. Making millions of dollars playing a game you grew up loving, yeah must really suck.

So if you know how all these players feel, then you must be close to them? No, I didn't think so. This is what I find so objectionable to all this BS. It is all opinion, it has no proven facts other that Guerrero had his access limited.
I haven't seen the end of Tom vs Time, what did Tom say? Was anything actually said, or was it his 'body language'?
Your right though, I don't believe the writers, why should I? Everyone knows the Patriots don't talk, and now we are to believe that these stories are based on anything other than assumptions and BS?

If you seriously haven’t read or heard his comments or paid any attention to the situation, you probably shouldn’t be taking such a hard stance.

For the record, this isn’t about anything as silly as body language. Here’s a link to his comments from the director of the doc:

'Tom vs. Time' director doubts Tom Brady plays until mid-40s
