2018 mocks

Love the picks, but after his workout I’m having trouble seeing Hughes fall that far. In fact it will prob take a trade up to get him. My guess is that Harrison and gesicki go higher than the mock as well. Lauletta in the late 6th would be a steal

it's a simulation......here's this morning's

traded away 2(11) for 2(14) plus, then traded 2(14) for 2(17) plus

this one fills some holes

Mike Gesicki killed it at the combine. We've got about as much a chance of getting him at 95 as I do of stealing Kate Upton from Justin Verlander. He's 6'5" 247 and ran a 4.54 40. Did a vertical of
41.5. He's got a great catch radius and if we want him we might have to take him at 31 if he's there. He's a lot like Jimmy Graham who was a 1st round pick. More of a big receiver than your classic
TE(Gronk). Not much of a blocker.

I'm going to wait until the dust on free agency settles before getting into whom I'd like to take. If we can keep Solder and sign/trade for Talib that gives us some draft flexibility to get a TE or RB.

Two of the positions we can really use help at lb and edge. BB tends to like vets there instead of size/speed guys who get out of position. We'll have a better feel in two weeks.

Draft needs:

1.) left tackle - would prefer to sign solder.

2.) cornerback - lots of excellent options available in this draft and some good ones in free agency.

3.) big de. Two big 275 pound defensive end types that can set the edge and offer some pass rush as well. We line up brown and Shelton in the middle and have t flowers as the hybrid de/olb on one side, but we need the Chris Long type on the other side.

4.) olb - I see us starting Hightower, van noy and rivers as our linebackers. Roberts backs up Hightower, so we need two more linebackers.

Are you not a fan of Wise then?

Cant sleep, so I figure Id give one of these a shot for the first time this season.

RD.1 Pick 31 : Harold Landry OLB Boston College

RD.2 Pick 43. Mike Hughes CB, Central Florida

RD.2 Pick 63. Malki Jefferson LB, Texas

RD.3 Pick Pick 95 Hurcules Mata’afa DE/OLB/DT WA State

RD.4 Dallas Goedert TE, South Dakota State

RD.5 (from CLE) Shaquem Griffin, OLB Central Florida

My first mock:
Trade 31 to Bills for 56 and 65.
R2 43: Lorenzo Carter, OLB, Georgia (Like his speed and blitzing ability)
R2: 56: Sam Hubbard, DE, Ohio State (Probably best Edge-Setter and Run-Defender at DE)
R2: 63: Sony Michel, RB, Georgia (probably goes higher)
R3 65: Mike Hughes, CB, Central Florida
R3: 95: Malik Jefferson, ILB, Texas
R4: 136: Kyle Lauletta, QB, Richmond (patriot-type player)
R5 (CLE has two, don't which one we got): Shaquem Griffin, OLB, UCF (why not? fast, can cover, if he's available this late take a shot)
R6 205: Dylan Cantrell, WR, Texas Tech (Saw him mentioned in the UDFA thread, like his upside)

Don't know if any of these make any sense at the position i picked them, but that's a draft i would like.

It's a solid draft, but maybe optimistic about where some players will be available. Never know what will happen, though, so it could play out this way. I certainly wouldn't complain!

He's getting first round buzz. I think he goes in the second, but fourth doesn't seem possible.

Yeah, I kind of knew that. Its just I think with the combine players had from others positions will push him down a littler later he's being projected, especially considering some of the TE's that are more proven, having decent/great combines.

I could see Hurcules going sooner, which would make me move up and draft him in the 3rd, and Shaquem in the 4th, and then use the 5th on a the BPA for either a RB, WR, or decent safety that might slip.

In case you guys didn't already know, draft simulations are extremely unrealistic. I kept trading down a few picks at a time in order to add mid and late round picks, and ended up with this hilarious hodgepodge of names. This is the most unrealistic simulation I think I've ever done. Oh, and I still couldn't get a better score than A- on this thing. I think they do that on purpose, to keep people playing so that they can show them more ads (if they don't have adblock). Check out this totally ridiculous and not even remotely plausible haul:

Of course, you've already jumped the rails of plausibility right there. [The JEST are the only team BB has never made a deal with.]

This reminds me of @Off The Grid's 2010 mock offseason, where he had the Pats drafting 20-something players.
