I think the key word is "finalized". I think it is highly like that it takes more than an afternoon to find a buyer, and hash out the sale price and actual paperwork, to sell a Papa John franchise.
So basically this sale was probably in the works for weeks or months and just happen to finalize at a really ironic time.
