2018 Combine

His change of direction seemed to be very good as well when I caught UCF games last season. If he had two hands, I think he’d be a consensus top 10 pick.

He could even be a SS/LB in some packages, i'd also like to see him against some RBs as well. His speed is insane

Doesn’t it seem like a lock that he’ll be drafted by the Seahawks as their Kam Chancellor replacement?

Can't run very fast, and couldn't rep more than 4 times in the BP, but look at that 3-cone and shuttle. I don't think I've ever seen a number like that . . . well, ever. Has anyone ever broken 6.3 before? That's insane. Thomas has some serious off field concerns, but wow!

If the NFL thing doesn't work out for him, he might have a career as a gymnast;
those explosion & agility #s are jaw-dropping.

He’s prob too slow to play tackle, they’ll kick him inside to guard. His bench has me more worried. He lost a lot of money this wkend

I still feel he can play tackle. He's 345. He could shed some weight

The combine numbers (and their comparisons to Pats players) just confirm to me what I was thinking for the last few weeks. This is a draft where the value is on day 2 / early day 3. This is where you want to have the most picks / most flexibility to move around and collect talent.

Realistically all the blue chippers will be gone so unless we want to get a OT or a QB to use a fifth year option on there is no good reason to hang to 31 over gaining an additional pick in that range by selling that fifth year option to another team.

I disagree. There will be at least one linebacker available that would be a top 20 pick any other year. Probably Rashaan Evans.

He could and should shed weight. Wonder what his playing weight was at OU?

And I want to see 2 numbers improve at his pro day, his bench and 10 yard split. I worry for his Qb if he’s going against an edge rusher with speed like von Miller.

Van der Esch at 31, please....He's been my binky for weeks now......

we need LB's more than anything

I'd be all for this pick, but do you really think that he'll make it past the Packers or Steelers? Tony Pauline has reported that both teams have targeted him. As for other linebackers, Smith and Edmunds are pretty much top 12 locks from what I've heard. That leaves LVE, Evans, and probably Jefferson for all the other needy teams. There's a lot of space between them and pick 31. Sorry to be such a downer -- I hope it works out -- but I just have a tough time envisioning a scenario in which we come away with Vander Esch.
