2018 Combine

For those unfamiliar with Apke, his closing speed certainly shows up. Obviously this is a highlight reel, so take it with a grain of salt, but his athleticism translates to the field for sure.

4.32 for Donte Jackson even though he slipped when he started and cramped up in his calf.

At the very least, I think Apke will be a helluva Special Teamer.

PS - Thanks for the video Reamer

My favorite example of production concerns in college, courtesy of NFL Hall of Fame voter Ron Borges.

On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson or the second best tackle in the draft Kenyatta Walker, they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour who had 1 1/2 sacks last year in the pass-happy SEC, and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in the draft Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.

This should be on Borges headstone.

Ahhh the oh so rare white DB

His father a coach?

Seriously, why are there ZERO white cornerbacks year after year?

Go look up how many Chandler Jones had in college. Traits > production sometimes.
Absolutely agree

One of those many players who's a better pro than collegiate athlete

...A word of warning: Settle tested worse than Brace in every category.
Very unSettling (sorry), but what I hope separates him from Brace is that he appears to love football more than Brace ever did (though he needs to show that he can consistently keep off bad weight), and that unlike Brace, who gravy-trained his rep behind BJ Raji, Settle was a one-man wrecking crew at VaTech.

The other thing that stands out to me is that he's a much more fluid mover, testing numbers aside, when observing him on the field. He seems to have much better proprioception and body control, even if he didn't put up good numbers at the Combine. With the right coaching and strength training, he could turn into a Wilfork-lite. Interesting guy for sure; I think he makes Edmunds look better than he is (hot take of the draft season for me).

I think Minitron was the last to do it at all, and Jason Sehorn the last to do it full time.

I don't think Alexander's going In the first round. Players will fall. I know a good player will be there at 31. LB or pass rusher or even a corner.

Can't run very fast, and couldn't rep more than 4 times in the BP, but look at that 3-cone and shuttle. I don't think I've ever seen a number like that . . . well, ever. Has anyone ever broken 6.3 before? That's insane. Thomas has some serious off field concerns, but wow!

Jaime Alexander with a 6.78 3-cone and sub 4.00 shuttle on top of a 4.38 forty.

I think both he and Reid will be high on the board pending FA/trades.

I am surprised McFadden from FSU ran such a poor 40 time. He's more of a press corner.
