2018 Combine

Just seen Micah Kiser’s combine results. Because of his 3-cone (7.05), better than Elandon Roberts. Very similar to Roberts in all other respects. Very nice.

You do realize that might not exactly fill everyone with confidence, right?

During his rookie year, I gave Roberts a ton of slack for hitting the wrong holes and over-committing. I wrote it off to a rookie learning the defense. However, last year was more of the same.. More often than not, Roberts would hit the wrong hole, blast through and the RB would be 3 yards the other way before Roberts realize it and turned around.. Either that or he'd hit the wrong hole and get tied up by a Guard and not be able to get free.

If Langi/Flowers/TBD can show better poise / read ability, I could easily see Roberts gone. Especially since he doesn't bring much to special teams.

For a 7th rounder, Roberts is fine. Kiser has really good instincts against the run. He’s not a coverage guy though.

Roberts is nowhere close to being, within any scope of what is known as reality, fine.

Well he’s been on two consecutive SB rosters which is more than can be said for a number of 7th rounders.

As long as the guy's last name is NOT a common first name with an "s" added to the end. Those guys clearly suck ...
