I've always found the time after the Super Bowl, but before the Combine, a tough time for draft junkies. So, let's play a little game to pass the time, but we'll break the rules a bit to make things more fun. You're now the GM of an expansion team, but you get three picks per round to fill out a starting roster of 22 players (your last player will be an UDFA, I guess). Use a couple different boards if you're unsure of relative value or projected rounds for players.

Do you load up on defense early to stifle the opposition, and hope that your later round receivers can just keep the chains moving? Build the offensive line with dancing bears and rely on a dominant running game to keep time of possession manageable for a ragtag defensive unit? Invest in the QB of the future right off, or search through the bargain bin options? You decide!

If you really want to ratchet up the difficulty, tag a fellow poster as your draft partner/competition, take turns drafting, and see whose team looks the best at the end. :)

If I'm following the rules correctly, I'll go by NFL.coms rankings. I'll give myself the benefit of the doubt if they say multiple rounds and use the lower projection.

Round 1:
G Quentin Nelson
T Connor Williams
DT Vita Vea

Round 2
C Billy Price
CB Carlton Davis
LB Lorenzo Carter

Round 3
QB Mike White
OT Kolton Miller
TE Ian Thomas

Round 4
RB Royce Freeman
WR Anthony Miller
DT Trenton Thompson

Round 5
CB Levi Wallace
S Deshon Elliott
LB Leon Jacobs

Round 6
DE Anthony's Brown
WR Jester Weah
G Scott Quessenberry

Round 7
LB Shaun Dion Hamilton
S Trey Marshall
DE Matt ****inson

UFA
FB Nick Bawden

I really like your offensive line. Full back is also a fascinating choice. You've got a couple of my favorites on defense, too. Nice effort!

I'll have to try later. Maybe someone can volunteer to draft against me; that way we're competing over the same draft pool of players. We could PM and then post our results.

Thank you. I don't have the best skill positions but White will have all day to throw. :)

This was a fun exercise. Glad you came up with it.
