Wanted: Playmakers

Can't see Landry coming here. He's going to be looking at 13m at least.

Some of the so-called experts suggested that Landry might sign a one year prove-it deal to show that he can dedicate himself to a team and not be a distraction as he was in Miami in order to get his big contract. Either way I just dont see the need to invest our limited resources into a position of relative strength. Of course if Dola is not back and with Edelmans status up in the air that overly stacked side of things could suddenly need reinforcements if things dont work out.

Possible Gronk replacement or compliment with the Niners pick.

I'd like to see them sign Landry, Edelman could pass the torch to him as out #1 slot guy for the next few years.
That type of money won't be dished to him in NE

I like the WR group of Edelman, Cooks, Hogan, Mitchell, Amendola, Dorsett and maybe Britt in camp at least next year

Gonna be hard to draft a young playmaker and fit him on the roster

Also, with Cooks a FA next year maybe NE should look around for a deal to make...great statline but a very one dimensional WR skillset

My thinking is I would rather them sign Landry for big money then give that same money to Cooks. I like Cooks alot but feel Landry is a better fit in their system and could make a greater impact especially in the red zone where he is very good.

Landry is the definition of fungible slot receiver. He averaged 8 yards per reception. Plus he has a terrible attitude. Cooks had twice the YPC, as well as the most yards on deep passes in the NFL over the last two years, and is regarded as a great teammate. Easy choice for me.

I think people are getting blinded by his first round pick status and will be surprised that Cooks won't be as expensive on the open market as many think.

I don't want to give Cooks a $13m+ deal. He just isn't worth that. I would rather sign Landry and trade Cooks away personally.

I still think Vea is the cream of the crop, however. No one else stuffs the run like he does in college football this year (or for the last several years). I'd be willing to part with pretty considerable draft capital to bring him on board.
Trading Jimmy before last season = Vita Vea pick.
I dont get it. Why in the middle of the season after trading Brisset?
Was this Kraft idea to retain Brady and not BBs?
Stupid to get only 2rd. Some of the decision last years are head scratching

Think People forget is BB didn't know how TB12 was going to perform this season, he was going to be 40 going into this season and no one knew how he was going to do.
I think we done well to get the second round pick considering teams could of just waited and got him in free agency.

And now he has Hoyer and Brady will be 41 next season? Brisset supposed to be Bradys replacement.
Not trading Jimmy last year was stupid move, and if they so much like him as hard as it seems Brady should be cut or traded next season. But probably Kraft didnt want to cut Brady.
I hope that Brady will play till 45, but that is 4 more years, with Jimmy you have 15.
But in the end its better that Brady has chance for another, and pats will get some good QB eventually

Okay you want to get rid of Brady with another MVP Season and should of had another superbowl.. but hey lets get rid of him.

IF Brady had the supposed Cliff this year he would of been cut and we would of had jimmy for next season. BB did the correct thing by waiting to see how Brady went and then traded him.

Brissett was never going to be a QB here i personally think, whereas we could trade him and get Dorsett who has done more this year than Brissett would of done.

There are going to be other QBs, that will come in and look like a replacement, but i am never going to bet against Brady.

As long as we have Brady at his current level theres not a single QB in the league id rather have.

There are dozens of threads to discuss Brady / Jimmy. Mine isn't one of them. Thanks.

How about Mike Hughes at corner? Easy acceleration and great ball skills. I expect him to blow up the combine.

Think Corner is an interesting one this year. Recent years we've had that one legit number 1 corner in the draft whereas this year we don't.

I'm a fan of Hughes, has good size and is quick.

I'm a huge fan of Denzel Ward and think he could be like Chris Harris Jr.

Carlton Davis, looks like Sherman 2.0, will be interesting to see his 40 yard and his 3 Cone times.

My top 3 Corners are;

Ward
Jackson
Davis/Hughes

I think Josh Jackson is my favorite cb in the draft.

The two BC kids, Moore and Yiadom, both have solid work ethics and would fit in well here.

Wr Kirk from Texas a&m could be a tremendous playmaker in our system. He is sudden, creates separation and appears to have decent hands.

It much of a blocker though.

I will try to explain better.

You are saying that he waited if Brady would have cliff this year at 40 and cause it was ok Jimmy got traded. So because he had good year that is garancy that he will be till 45. He wont have cliff this year? For me this is stupid.
You have two options
1. Trade Jimmy for first or as much as you can get last year and keep Brady.
2, Or cut Brady.
That is before 2017 season. Now you only got 2rd pick. and no f... Vea or some first round pick that you could have traded for more pick and in the 2rd choose another Jordan Richards(still mad)

All i am trying to say is that they lost draft picks.

And i am still mad that Brady didnt get another ring. And he is GOAT. But if i am GM and i see potential in Jimmy. Then it is no brainer what to do. So that is why i am still scratching my head why they lost draft pick with this trade

I've mentioned Nwosu before, but I went back to review his tape recently, and I think he will generate a significant amount of interest in NE. Very good at timing his jumps to bat down throws, and always seems aware of passing lanes / concepts. He's a former safety, and it shows in his movement. He's not necessarily a great EDGE guy, but he could be an excellent chess piece in the same way that Nink was deployed at LB / DE.
