Gronk won’t commit to playing next year - considering retirement?

You could argue he'll retire sooner than Tom will.

I think hes just mentally drained and taking the loss hard.

He'll be back.
I would bet my mortgage that he’ll be back next year. He’s an emotional guy and that’s how he plays the game. Let him soak up some sun and enough alcohol to kill a gorilla and tag 25 blondes over the summer in Miami and he’ll be ready for football.

Way too conservative on the # of girls

Big guy. He gets targeted and severely punished weekly. I’ll respect it if he hangs it up. Health first.
plus, I imagine that a significant concussion can get someone thinking...especially someone who is very marketable like Gronk...

Exactly. He can make millions outside football without taking the bigger risks football puts on his health.
1st ballot?

Well, he certainly has earned the right to do what he wants. It's a brutal game and he has played it at a level I've never seen from the TE position.

All those injuries pile up after time and he's had some serious ones. Back, knee, arms, concussions and whatever else cones from the game.

I think this is just a check yourself offseason which is becoming standard for a lot of athletes.

I think he gets to Canton but if he retires now I doubt it would be First Ballot as he has missed a lot of games due to injury, which, of course, is probably why he'd retire early.

He didn’t really even imply he was considering retirement.

It was suggested by a writer and his response was “where did you hear that?” followed by saying he will look back in the season with his teammates and go from there.

Man, I would hate to see Gronkowski retire from a purely selfish entertainment standpoint, but his body must be pretty derailed by now. Those back injuries in particular do not age well, and now you have a big concussion. A twice broken forearm that never healed right. An ACL tear. That's a lot of damage.

He is, to me, my favorite all-time Patriot after only Brady. This guy embodies everything the Patriots are about. Unselfishness, doing your job and not complaining, toughness, and in his case, once-in-a-lifetime talent. I have no idea if he'll actually retire, of course, and I bet it would be hard to walk away from the spotlight when you have a personality like that and can still dominate the league, but we've seen it with guys like Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders.

I think he'll definitely be back next year but will probably retire relatively early for a TE, maybe at the same time Brady retires.

Gronk just lost an emotional game, I believe his contract is up and there are TEs making more than he did this year. Could be part negotiation part just losing the super bowl. I'd bet he's back.

Muscletech is debuting a "Gronk Bar", a 20g protein bar some time in March.... I don't think Muscletech would be putting Gronkowskis name on a protein bar, complete w him spiking the ball on the wrapper, if he was retiring....

Gronkowski is under contract for 2 more years. He reportedly has the ability to reach 12.5m with incentives next season.

Any chance you could ask this guy what the hot stocks are in the coming weeks?! That would be awesome!!!

It’s not only the ******** calls. It’s easy to see when a team has orders to throw a game. Missed tackles everywhere, blown coverages, QB not getting touched, not playing one of your best players etc

I should have listened to the dude on youtube. who said after week 3 the Eagles would win the super bowl with Foles beating us. He said in October 2015 was scripted for Broncos to beat panthers and Miller to win the mvp too. Also said before last years super bowl that the patriots would win in a comeback and two important numbers were 25 and 62. Has been talking all year about how it’s scripted for Bill to get 6 in Atlanta next year, where Saban got 6 this year. Saban was 66 this year. Bill will be 66 next season

I like it, but I don’t see us being better next year. This was Belichick’s shot at 6.
They really have so many holes on defense....and Lewis will be gone....several others are in contract years too I heard....so we may be in for a bit of a rebuild....Hate it if that was Brady’s last shot at it....and D pissed it away like that

Gordie's not letting that cash flow dry up...;)

Pats need to draft a new TE anyway. Someone with less drama please.

Gronk is a reality TV show. People are breaking into his home now like he is a movie star.
