Gronk won’t commit to playing next year - considering retirement?

But in all honesty, I think there's no way that he retires this season. I understand all the injuries he takes, but he wouldn't have started the TB12 method if he intended to retire soon. No I'm not joking.

I think the recent CTE news combined with the fact he needs no $ and just got hit in the head bad may be factors. If he were my kid I would tell him to bail.

No, I really don't, please share. This is a thread about Gronk saying he's gonna weigh his options (playing further vs. retirement), and within its first couple pages you posted that the forum is an embarrassment... and when asked to elaborate why you think this, you started talking about bandwagoners, or something? Are you confused about what thread you're in? Because I'm just not following.
I'm referring to the majority of the threads here tonight.

Brady talks him into playing 2 more years until he's 30. They retire together with a SuperBowl win and ride off into the sunset.

But the defense needs to reload big time.

Name one logical reason I am a bandwagoner
I mean, anyone who joined up/started following the team during this dynasty run could be called a "bandwagoner" of sorts. I joined the board the year before the XLIX win, I think it was. You could call me a bandwagoner if you want to. I haven't been a fan during the "bad times", the SB against Favre happened when I was like 6 years old. So yeah, there are many of us who've only been fans since the team has been good. But it's been like 9 Super Bowl apperances in 20 years... so the term "bandwagoner" is just silly for this team.

Okay - I ask again - what does that have to do with this thread? If you're displeased with the forum then you should be having private conversations about that, I don't see why you need to make vague messages expressing your disappointment in the website you're using in random threads. Let's stop this discussion now and focus on the actual topic.

Its silly because anyone could be a bandwagoner then since you cant control when you are born

He would owe the Patriots money though right? I'm no cap genius but remember that some players weren't too open to retiring to avoid having to give back part of their paycheck

Just tuned in to see how many Fnordcircle man junk comments there were. Lmao! Oh well

Gronk will play. I don’t see him retiring but I think he is angry about something. There’s an odd feeling about stuff in this game. It does not balance the equation

Up to the Patriots but he still has $4M they could get back if they chose to if he retired.

(They'd save $10M in salary if he retired. That could range from $8M to $12M depending on whether they let him keep the full signing bonus or not).

Perhaps. Reports are he has not touched a dime of his football money. he lives off of his outside income of commercials etc... This is from 2015 Rob Gronkowski: I Haven't Spent A Dime Of My $16.3 Million Career Salary Earnings

"“To this day, I still haven’t touched one dime of my signing bonus or NFL contract money. I live off my marketing money and haven’t blown it on any big-money expensive cars, expensive jewelry or tattoos and still wear my favorite pair of jeans from high school… I don’t hurt anyone (except Gord with the occasional kick to the groin), I don’t do drugs, I don’t drive drunk, I don’t break the law… I’m a 23-year-old guy just looking to have a fun time.”

Ross, honestly, I'm going to stop this now, also, because rational dialogue on this board right now seems largely impossible. Why in God's name it is impossible for many here to simp!y admit that our team was out played tonight is bafflingly embarrassing. My resume here reads like a classic homer and I wear that proudly, but we were beaten his evening by a better team. With that, I'm out.

Good for him! Kudos! The man clearly knows how to manage his money, and look out for his future.

Yup, he can just go become a CEO somewhere. The sky is the limit...

He's frustrated with the loss. Rothlesberger says this at the end of every season when they lose. Larry Bird said it after losing to the Lakers. He'll be back.

PLEASE retire Tom Brady. Trash ass defense will cost you another SB. 5-4 will look terrible. Please retire TB12. you did everything you can. Pos defense.

Ah, the REAL fans will now have a place to reside! Serenity now!!!

Gronk leaving and retiring would be a death knell for the NFL. Someone this lethal giving up the game. Amazing.
