It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Well his D gave up 41 points and a record amount of yards...so yeah he's a bit responsible. His defense made zero adjustments throughout the game and couldn't get one stop when it mattered.
Well, then here's hoping they get some talent on that DL. I just prefer to watch the more aggressive D's.
My preferred starting point on defense is at LB, but the FA list that's out there right now is one that is light on talent. As for the DT position, I'd be very interested in seeing how much Dontari Poe is looking for (especially if the coaching staff thinks they can improve his technique), I'd be interested enough to look at Justin Ellis as a run defense specialist, and I'd be interested in whether or not Kyle Williams would take a short (1 real year, one not-so-real year) deal as a rotational player. At DE, Demarcus Lawrence is going to be too expensive, or I'd start the looking there.
We Paid Gilmore why not Lawrence?Good list. Poe is great.
Do they try to keep Harrison?
I take issue with the totally negative description of the defense. It has several good players upon which to build next year: McCourty, Chung, HT, Brown, both Flowers and Gilmore. Van Noy is better than a JAG. Wise and Adam Butler have potential. We'll see about Rivers. There's a lot of work to do, but that's a pretty good place to start to rebuild.

If schiano can devise a defense that doesn't allow teams to waltz up and down the field and doesn't let guys like Blake bortles and Nick Foles have career days, I'm all for Schiano
Cowboys fans seem convinced that the team will be able to find enough cap room in order to tag Lawrence. We Paid Gilmore why not Lawrence?
We need linebackers that can move in space and cover.
Also need a defensive tackle that can create pressure.
Gonna throw some names at you of people who did not play defense yesterday for the Patriots and some who did and maybe shouldn't have!: Derek Rivers, Cyrus Jones, Vincent Valentine, Jordan Richards, Geneo Grissom, D. Easley, Jamie Collins, Logan Ryan, Chandler Jones, Done Hightower, Tavon Wilson, the Roger Goodell Special Shiv to his BFF Kraft.
In the last 6 drafts, the Patriots expended 13 high picks on defense. Only 2 of those players saw the field and helped the cause yesterday. Others were good players but not fit for the team/scheme (Collins, Chander Jones), others were injured (Hightower, Rivers, Valentine, Cyrus), others are flat out busts (Easley, Grissom, Richards, Wilson), one left for FA which is understandable (Ryan), and one pick was stolen away in a ridiculous manufactured hoax that would Vince McMahon proud.
Trey Flowers, Duron Harmon
I'd submit that the defense is really really hurting because, whatever the cause, you only have Flowers and Harmon out there from the last 6 drafts.
And when it comes to first rounders? Nothing.
For a myriad of reasons, that defense is talent deficient.
...Malcolm Brown is the only first round pick from the last 5 years (2013-2017) that's on the roster (Thanks, in part, to Herr Goodell), and the only second rounders still on the roster from that time period are Richards and Cyrus Jones....
That isn't the NFL. They have a top 10 recruiting class every year. Against very good offenses they didn't do so well (see Penn St game). Oklahoma got them early in the year as well. The only poor offense they got run over by was Iowa but the whole team played like a bunch of girls that day. Turnovers were a plenty that day.Ohio State's defense allowed the 5th least yards per play, 6th least rushing yards per game, ~ 199 passing yards per base (not amazing comparatively), so it was a solid year by his unit. They also allowed 266 points in 14 games.

Matt Patricia isn't the reason for losing. The D was bend but not break.
