OT: Salty Jags Fans

The Patriots were penalized 95 times this past season. That was the 7th lowest in the league. Carolina (83) and Tennessee (85), were the two least penalized. Also penalized fewer times than the Patriots were the following 4 teams:

Ravens
Giants
Redskins
Colts

none of whom made the playoffs.

Seems like a pretty shoddy way to rig a league

Regarding the Lewis fumble... why does everyone seem to be treating the situation like it was not a catch, then lose control and not maintaining thoughout the ground. IMO the refs messed up twice. Firstly Lewis had control of the football clasped against his thigh, even though he originally lost it, he regained control (ask our fav WR Tyree about what constitutes control of the football) they had gone past whether it was a catch or not, meaning if the fumble happened earlier then you say the call was correct. The moment Lewis had part of his body down the play was over. Secondly the whistle 100% saved our ass and should not have been blown. Still the play should of not got to that point.
I thought the same thing, but it was so close that the play called on the field would have stood either way.

They are crying about the P.I calls but it really was P.I

I think, more than anything, their gripe is that more calls weren't made against the Patriots.

Same ole excuses for this embarrassing loss. Funny how he didn't want a call for the guy pushing all over White then slapping his helmet after that first TD.
The Jaguars showed what kind of team they have......big talking, chippy, hard hitting, undisciplined, hot headed, whiny cry baby Seahawks wannabes

Keep reading Deus, they're gripe is the NFL, refs and the universe is in the bag for the Pat's, they can't win because the NFL doesn't want a small market team in the super bowl and all the calls go for the Pat's.

Yea that too. Over at their site, from a link up there many were howling about the P.I call on aj. Those refs could have called a few holes on the pats to be fair but they could of called several more P.I calls, defensive holding, taunting, unsportsmanlike etc. could have been worse. I’m actually shocked that Blakeman didn’t call tons of penalties as he is flag happy.boomer is not helping by saying that one before the half was bogus. It’s clear cut as you can get

They may have a point about that fumble recovery being blown dead when he wasn't touched, but they could have been called for so many other things. They complain that Mercedes Lewis was mugged even though it was within 5 yards but they say nothing about all the times they grabbed Cook's arm on those deep bombs. Cook's speed was too much for them to handle and if called closer I don't see why we wouldn't have just fed him the ball more.

They complain about our line holding but they had an egregious hold that went uncalled on a third down conversion pass to TJ Yeldon. On that play they straight up tackled Adam Butler. The refs tried their hardest to keep their flags in their pocket but the Jags forced their hands with obvious calls.

That was actually seriously funny until the last few sentences and then it just became horribly disturbing.

Yeah, it's a downward spiral in real time. Fascinating stuff.

By rule Jack was down, so even if they let the play go and review it you're getting the same result. The people complaining that it would have been returned for a TD basically just don't understand how the rules work re: fumble recoveries. If you're touched down at any point during the recovery, which Jack was, you're down.

I watched it multiple times and it is debatable that Lewis touched him once Jack had clear possession.

That's the point though, 'once he had clear possession' is not the standard. If he's touched down at any point in the attempt to recover, including before he had clear possession, he's down.

Bortles!

I can't blame Jags fans for being so p*ssed off - they've blown their one chance of going to the Super Bowl before the team moves to London (where they do have quite a few fans these days).

As for everyone else - haters gonna hate...
