Here exerpt of an article about the Eagles' reaction to cameragate and whether the Pats cheated in the Super Bowl vs. the Eagles:

Sheldon Brown and the Eagles hoped a blitz would rattle Tom Brady.

One problem: Every time the Eagles rushed Brady in the Super Bowl, the Patriots nullified the defensive attack with screen passes. Lots of them. On almost every play defensive coordinator Jim Johnson called for a blitz, the Patriots used the short pass to confuse the Eagles.

After the Patriots beat the Eagles 24-21 in 2005 to win the Lombardi Trophy, Brown thought the Patriots beat them with nothing but sharp offensive playcalling. Now, he's not so sure.

With spying accusations leveled this week against the Patriots, some of the Eagles left from the NFC title team are wondering if New England used bootleg film to their advantage in the Super Bowl.

"Do I think about it? Mmm hmmm," said Brown, their starting cornerback. "It's crazy. I just don't know how far back it goes. Something's not right about that."

So there is something not right about the Pats throwing a lot of screen passes, which they historically use a lot of, against a team that is known for blitzing on almost every passing down? Are the Patriots the first team that used screens to try to neutralize the Eagles' blitzing defense? Come on! Ever hear of gameplanning Shelton?

Players are just trying to justify that they got beat by the Pats by chocking it up to cheating.

i actually remember kevin faulk saying after the game that when they called screen in the huddle and went to the line of scrimmage he could hear eagle players yelling "screen" and was worried if it work and it still did.

To all whiners: Prove it. The only evidence is from one game, in which the commissioner said "there was no impact on the outcome." If you have evidence, come forward. Otherwise, eat $hite and die.

yep and then Jim Johnson said they were prepared for the screen..they practiced and studied it and still couldnt stop us

Precisely. It was well known before SB39 that the Eagles were a blitz-happy team.

I'm surprised to hear this from Sheldon Brown. He had a good game. Branch tore them up, especially from the slot when nickelback Matt Ware was put on him, but finally the Eagles smartened up and put Brown on him and Branch had only one catch thereafter and it was a circus catch that should have been a pick by Brown at that.

Regards,
Chris
