Last week we found out that linebacker Eric Moore was living out of a hotel so that he wouldn't jinx his chances of making the team.
It looks like he made the correct decision by not seeking a permanent residence.
Moore is reportedly among the first of what will likely be many more cuts announced today, and it's somewhat of a surprise because many thought that he would be among those left standing by the time today was over with.
Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com recently predicted a defensive line-up of LDE Eric Moore/Shaun Ellis; DT Vince Wilfork; DT Albert Haynesworth; RDE Andre Carter when the season starts. Unfortunately Moore obviously won't be among these names when the season kicks off a week from Monday down in Miami.
Moore was signed by the Patriots as a free agent on December 3, 2010, and appeared in 4 games with 3 starts last season. He finished last season with 14 tackles with 9 solo and 5 assists, as well as 2 sacks, 1 pass defensed, 2 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
More to come.
