Central Thread For Mourning/Canonizing Jimmy Garoppolo

i know he could have got more money but being offered say 5-8mil next year and then 20+ years after . Surley would rather be in the pats winning team than the 49ers. Just a thought. I would rather of kept Jimmy but i assume Kraft told bill to trade jimmy and not tom.
Tom is starting to look a bit wooden and i HOPE its his tendon injury

Welcome to American Football! Have fun watching the next six years before the NFL folds.

Jimmy G wouldn't have taken that deal you proposed. Some other team would have offered him 60 million over four years this offseason, and he would start immediately. Also there was no guarantee he would have started two years from now, since Brady's time here is open ended.

The only thing we could have done to keep him was franchise him, and that would have tied up $35m+ in the QB position between him and Brady, which makes it really hard to construct a roster. So that would have been tough too.

its just his movement over the past month, he looks like he cant bend his legs. Granted he has never had a good set of wheels on him but in my opinion his movement looks his age but his arm seems as good as ever

Well, he was nursing a bad Achilles so that would have certainly having him favor something or look slightly awkward because of the pain. But I diddnt notice anything odd. He had a bad game in MIA but he has had one or two of those every year just about his whole career.

You all are a bunch of psychos.

Who has time to post on all of these different messageboards, and who has the time to research everywhere this guy has been?
Especially when he makes a trip to the outhouse.

TFB moved very well in the pocket vs the Squealers. He needed to.

I see your point quite well. If I were jimmy, I’d hang on and keep on getting rings here and wait. But, he wanted to go home I think and he really wanted to play now. I don’t blame him as that’s how a compedetive heart works. Would have been nice but you know, we’ve got the goat so you can’t have everything.

I don’t see where he is wooden acting though, I mean, he will most likely be mvp. Numbers don’t lie in this league

It's never good to "assume". The reason JG was traded and not Brady, had nothing to do with Kraft. It has everything to do with the fact that he was STILL going to be the 2nd best QB on the team and likely would have been in 2018.

Next time you want to "assume" something remember this old adage. When you ASSUME, you usually wind up making an ASS out of U and ME. On the other hand, despite that truism, assuming is a job requirement if you want to become a sports reporter or analyst.

Tom's Achilles according to Jeff Howe has cleared up over the last week so that is not a concern.

And I'm not sure about wooden. These facts say otherwise.

Can't be very wooden leading the NFL in most passing categories.

Well, I doubt that he's likely to be juking many premier MLB out of their jockstraps anymore, but, aside from that ...

Anyway, I believe that Tom prefers to be described as "statuesque".

I have been reading, and eventually posting on this forum , probably more years that your age I suspect, and in all that time I have never accused any poster of being a troll.
I strongly suspect that that is what you are, attempting to "stir the pot" relative to a former Patriots back up Q/B.
If you are legit, try and get your facts + ( grammar and spelling) correct.
You say you are following the Pats 2 years and your thinking is that the locals in the States call the game soccer, you must have been paying real close attention.

Describing TB12 as "Wooden" considering his official injury status in recent weeks is somewhat ignorant.
I am wondering to myself if you have any connections to the Yinzers, considering your join date ?
Ordinarily, I don't feed trolls , but for some reason I feel compelled this time.

Correct me if you must. I await your intelligent reply.

why? because once you have 5-10 million in your bank account do you really need more? surly waiting a couple of years and then taking over a successful team would be appealing. also if he had failed at the 49ers he would have been in a pickle, they would have gone back to drafting a top QB and jimmy would be left out to dry unless he returned to pats

Gosh that sure is a warm welcome. What on earth is wrong with you? you watch brady move in the past few games minus the steelers and he was very wooden, he was hurt therefore he was wooden.
Remove the stick from your ass and if you dont furnish my threads with your radiant wisdom im sure ill get over it. And yes real football is what you call soccer, but american football is what this site is about.
Please wind your neck in.

Surley would rather be in the pats winning team than the 49ers.

OTOH, he now gets the opportunity to be the hero by turning a cellar-dweller team into a playoff team that he can call his own ... and I think he's already begun to do that by instilling some confidence in his new teammates.

I wouldn't be shocked in the least if the Niners make the playoffs in 2018.

Well, I’d look at it like I’ve got two already, if I ride Tom another year or two that will be at least three. Ahhhhhh now I go try to win some of my own but! I’ve got some now to wag in squealer faces and ask: remember all those times we kicked your ass?

Stuff like that. Plus it’s obvious he was learning a bit. On the other hand, he can go get his brains beat in for a few years, not get any rings for several years but gets to throw... great plan

These photos suggests otherwise. I've never seen him so stiff.

The NFL collective bargaining agreement puts serious restrictions on drafted rookie contracts for three or four years. If a guy survives long enough to get a second contract it's very often the only bite at the apple he'll ever get. Injury, crummy team, bad coach, some off-field thing can ruin everything. The NFL stands for Not For Long for a host of reasons. When your turn comes, you take everything that the CBA and the market will allow.

Garoppolo would be a fool to take less than the market or the franchise tag in 2018. He should hold out for the best offer in the right situation.

Who knows? Maybe Brady retires and Garoppolo comes back. The 49ers will franchise him, but he doesn't have to sign that deal and more chaos is not what the Niners can bear (and Kirk Cousins is out there.)

Have you played competitive sports? Or for that matter started a business or performed with very talented artists?

Do you think (you apparently must) that Elite Athletes (business people/artists) just sit around and let other people be successful?

Well, that's how you think. Winners dont' have the "I will sit around and let other people play and win so I can wave it in peoples faces"

Seriously! Did you just write this - I’ve got some now to wag in squealer faces and ask: remember all those times we kicked your ass?

Laughable and sad, all at the same time. What kind of elite athlete (and from what we have seen a great guy) would even think that given HE sat on the bench the whole time.

Pitiful

He didn’t sit the whole time

But yeah, I’m not an athlete so my thought process on this is not valid

I dont think your thought process is valid regardless. Probably on anything. But let me ask you this. You are now saying that its ok for JG to BRAG about his rings because he did not "sit the whole time"

Those 6-8 Quarters (or whatever it was) he played of regular season in 14-16 give him BRAGGING RIGHTS to wave around in other teams faces because the Pats (Brady) won the SB those years.

Wow

To make a long story short, professional athletes have a limited shelf life.
