Pats signed Reedy to the PS on 11/22.

Patriots are placing Nate Ebner and Martellus Bennett on the IR. 11/27 or 11/28.

My guess is that Grissom and either Will Tye or one of the DBs will be back signed.

Well it says that you don't know who Grigsby is since he's played LB almost exclusively. It says that the two guys you mentioned would likely not be able to help emergency depth at LB which could be short Van Noy and Reilly for at least 1 week.

Interesting that they added King who was in TC with them and had spent time on the PS but had been released back at the beginning of October. King played OG exclusively for Purdue.

Grigsby played Sam and Star LBs in College as well as 1 game at ILB. Was named one the Special Teams Captains at Pitt as a Junior ( only Junior named that year). Has plenty of experience on Special Teams. Has experience rushing the passer and in coverage..

I think that the signing of Grigsby speaks more to the the fact that Reilly won't be available this week than it does to where D. Jones or D. Travis are in terms of development with the team.

Bernard Reedy gets #17
A very cursed uniform number for the Patriots. Put it this way: the best #17's in team history were Aaron Dobson and Mike Taliaferro. Also worn by Chad Jackson.

#50 goes to Nicholas Grigsby
That number went to Mike Vrabel and Rob Ninovich this century, Sam Adams in the 70s and Larry McGrew in the 80s.

No number assigned to Hardison yet.

#94 (Ricky Jean-Francois) and #72 (Jason King) are now available.

Practice squad DT Marcus Hardison was assigned #96.
Best Patriot players to wear #96 were defensive ends Brent Williams ('86-'93) and Mike Jones ('94-'97). Most well known player was Adalius Thomas ('07-'09). More recently that uni has belonged to Jermaine Cunningham, Andre Carter, Sealver Siliga, Terrance Knighton, Darius Kilgo and Anthony Johnson.

LB Jonathan Freeny gets #44.
Freeny had #55 when he was previously with the Pats.
The best Patriot #44 was RB Don Calhoun ('75-'81); it was also worn by the infamous John Stephens ('88-'92). Heath Evans, James Ihedigbo and Zach Sudfeld are among those to wear #44 this millennium.

The Pats HAD a DT there and cut him. Typically the PS isn't JUST about player development, but also about players who give them something that helps them get ready for other teams.

Reedy is around in the even Amendola gets hurt.
McCarron is around because he could, very well, be the next Edelman-esque type player.

Jomal Wiltz has speed and coverage skills.
