Well the team has. No rings during mankins entire time here and 2 since he left.I don’t know either why mankins get so much love around here. He really wasn’t all that great. I think that the line has actually done better since his departure.
And the dolphins quarterbacks are outstanding."Logan Mankins is everything we would ever want in a football player. It is hard to imagine a better player at his position, a tougher competitor or a person to represent our program. He is one of the all-time great Patriots and the best guard I ever coached."
B. Belichick
That could be an incorrect memory on my part. I recalled it was tied to his performance after he (Hannah) retired, but could definitely be wrong on that. I couldn't find an article documenting that statement.
Yeah I don’t think James had any of those issues like eason. That could be an incorrect memory on my part. I recalled it was tied to his performance after he (Hannah) retired, but could definitely be wrong on that. I couldn't find an article documenting that statement.
The guy I remember from those camps was mcginest. He was literally shaped like a Y. First nfl player I eve saw that had the upper body of a DT and had no fat.
Another thread comparing Mankins to Hannah got me thinking......not sure some here realize just how good he was - he is still arguably the greatest guard of all time
he defined the term mauler......he was just nasty
i know some of these have been linked before....
Agree but Hog had a problem with him?James was an excellent player, unfortunately he was injury prone, retired because of a bad shoulder, but injuries stopped him from possibly being one of the best backs in Patriot’s history. That SB season in 1985, he was great.
That's fine. Hog was very critical of his teammates. It would not surprise me he called out James for some innocuous thing. I just didn't rememberThat could be an incorrect memory on my part. Hell, Hannah doesn't even think much of Brady and Belichick. That's fine. Hog was very critical of his teammates. It would not surprise me he called out James for some innocuous thing. I just didn't remember
Like I said, I knew Hannah a bit back in the late 80's and it was pretty much common knowledge at the time, he could be a bit of a ****. From your comment, I guess time hasn't mellowed him much.Hell, Hannah doesn't even think much of Brady and Belichick.
I was at some Patriots Visa points dinner with an alum at the Stadium thing a few years ago and Hannah was the alum.
He was all "Brady is good, but we'll see if had have been good if he was playing back in my day." And "Belichick - hmph. It's all the players."
