Pats D just did something the "No Fly Zone" hasn't done & "Legion of Boom" hasn't done in 3 years

i for one said no worries, that is was september, and that BB defenses have a history of playing their best ball in dec/jan and feb
I personally felt that if the defense kept performing that way it'd be up to the O to win a lot of games and 11-5 was the ceiling for the season.

But, that's working with what I had at the moment like a lot of people did. And I don't think I was wrong

I dont think you were wrong but you seem to be defending a lot of Pink Hat. knee jerk, chicken little posters who were going far beyond "skeptical" into some new category of ridiculous.

If people are going to go full ****** because (as usual) our complicated D scheme isnt ironed out by week 6 (or whatever) and they can only live with a perfect D out of the gate, and they act like 5 year olds.....Then they should expect a good bit crap thrown their way.

There are plenty of posters who know how to articulate their concern about the team without making this place into a joke. Please dont defend the ones that arent capable.

Of course you were wrong.
Assuming any team will keep playing the same is always wrong. You have to look at what is happening and think.
No one in their right mind would expect a belichick defense to continue to play like it did the first 4 weeks and never improve.

The defense has actually been the strength of the team the last five weeks. Who would have thought we'd be saying that?

With our offense, as long as they can keep the opponents to 24 points or under I like our chances.

If you anticipated them allowing 16.something odd points over the next 5 games after week 4 you're lying your ass off. I anticipated they'd get better because they were so bad there was no other way to go but up, but not at this level

I anticipated I'd stamp my feet and let doubt seep in as the season got underway...and I anticipated I'd grumble and grouse and complain about the defense as I do every season. I HOPED I was dead wrong as I have been since 2000...and guess what? I was right...I WAS dead wrong. Again. Must be insanity.

I expected them to play about like they always have under BB particularly in terms of winning and I never really care about stats.
They played totally unlike a BB defense so anyone paying attention would know there would be stark improvement.

Ok sure. Probably just talking semantics here, I just don't think "stark improvement" meant from worst to one of the best is all
