Papa John's slams NFL leadership

We make fun of Papa Johns here in NE because every small town has like two or three local pizza places. Elsewhere in the country, it's not like that and the only place to get pizza is from chains like Papa Johns.

Everywhere I've been had at least a house of pizza in pretty much every small town with more than maybe a thousand or so people. That includes the southeast, mid-atlantic, southwest and west coast as well as Maine where I grew up. I'm sure there are towns where what you say is true, but I don't think that's the main thing keeping these crap chains in business. I think some people just choose to eat chain pizza for some reason.

I live in CA, and I've got over a dozen non-chain pizza options within 5 miles that are all really good in their own cool ways (New York-style, Chicago-style, genuine old-school Italian pizza, some weird hippy new-age ****, classic philly-style pizza and sandwich shops, etc). Despite having all these options, Domino's, Papa John's, Pizza Hut and Little Caesar's all have multiple stores very near to me that do plenty of business. I think a lot of people are just comfortable with familiarity and like what they've had before and what they see on TV. I'd bet it's the same people who like Big Macs despite the fact that you can get better burgers in damn near every town in America.

The guy who refused to raise the price of its pizza by a few cents so the employees could have benefits(or something like that) and who works with a sexual predator is slamming the NYJFL* for its leadership. How about you look in the mirror 1st you scumbag!

The issue had lost all steam and was a page 6er until someone gave it CPR Friday night September 22.

.

As Deus said, things went into overdrive on that day but it was still very much an issue. Before the season started, I ran into a guy at the store that always talks sports with me whenever we bump into each other. He told me he had called Directv to cancel Sunday Ticket. When the woman asked the reason he wanted to cancel, he told her because of all the players kneeling during anthem. She responded that she's been getting that same call a dozen times a day.

So no, this wasn't all but forgotten until that night.

Papa John's is nasty, but they do offer good deals to youth sports groups (and others) for buying pizzas in bulk. They gave my town's soccer association a great deal for a charity tournament we ran....

Guy's a narcissistic, Napoleonic, jock sniffer.

If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter.

Stop giving away 2 million pizzas and provide health care for your employees, you scumbag.

and your pizzas suck.

No, it’s like this pretty much everywhere in the Northeast, including NY, NJ and CT.
Add PA to that mix as there are 6 pizza shops within a 1 mile stretch of my office...

Lol Papa John's is my girl's favorite. It's not bad, but it's def not the best.

but but ..the players are oppressed!! the multi millionaires get their feelings hurt!!

I think I have, no exaggeration, 10 locally owned pizza/sub shops within a mile of my house...although I 100% favor Italian pizza over Greek Pizza

A great deal on crap pizza is worth.........????????

.

You don't have the facts, though. Your claim is wrong.

If you were to say that the controversy kicked into another gear, you'd be accurate. That's not your claim though.

As for inane posting, that's certainly right in your wheelhouse.
Just here for the "oh snap".

If this somehow, even remotely, affects Peyton Manning's business and bottom line, I'm ok with it....o_O
I think more significantly is how it affect the commissioner.

IMHO the timing is very suspicious (not that I disapprove, mind you). Jerry Jones wants to get rid of Goodell and getting one of the biggest sponsors of the league to criticize "NFL Leadership" would resonate with ownership. Makes me think they have a backroom agreement and maybe Papa John will get a discount on his Cowboys sponsorship or something like that.
