It's one player blowing his assignments in Gilmore and Newton finding the open man because he's a mobile QB that is able to get away from the pressure..

Seriously, your analysis is inaccurate and misleading. They've given up 14 points on completely blown coverages. That's not poor execution, that's poor communication.

The defense has been bad, but so has the offense at times. Brady has missed multiple throws, they've had to settle for two FGs in the red area. It's a team effort, and the offense can and should be better.

It's official, the defense is garbage, it's already week 4, being very optimistic they fix that by week 8, I'm already on shutout mode for the whole regular season and hoping the defense clicks somehow in the playoffs.

If the biggest problem with this D is communication, and I think it is, that's actually not bad news. Given the coaching staff and the fact that improvements and learning will naturally come from experience, that's the one thing that's the most easily correctable. But this, right now, is pretty god awful. This is one of the worst offenses in the NFL and they're breaking off plays in bunches.

IMO, we need to simplify things defensively. Just run cover 3 or something every-time and make Cam beat us. Way too many blown coverages passing off responsibilities during M2M.

We've never seen a Belichick defense play like this. It's not speed; it's not lack of pass rush. It's confusion. These guys are running around with no idea of what defense they are in. Whether they are in zone or man. Who is covering whom.
This appears to be the plain stupidest group of defenders the Patriots have ever fielded.
These are people who have played all their lives, and really cannot figure out a defensive formation.

This is coaching. They don’t know their roles. Confused, no communication, not ok for an NFL Defense.

There is only so much teaching you can do. At the end of the day, it's up to the student to absorb the information. There are too many idiots (like Gilmore) on this defense.
