Jacoby says goodbye (EDIT: and hello!)

Anyone get a chance to watch Brissett this weekend or on gamepass? From someone who was real skeptical of his game he definitely impressed. Hilton dropped a sizeable gain too.

Next stop for him is SNF vs. Seattle.

I was pleasantly surprised at his ability to find his man in coverage. He's made progress there since last year.

What is the reason you "really wanted him to be the heir apparent"?

Why him over JG?

I'm just curious because I never saw a reason to root for Jacoby over any other backup we've had
mine was just that I like mobile Qb's and he's under contract longer. I think Jimmy is gone this offseasom

he's still roasting Elandon Roberts on Instagram.

Yeah, I think that's gotta be the consensus. In a vacuum, I assume everyone would take Garoppolo over Brissett, since Garoppolo has shown more in his time as a pro and has a much lower potential to bust. But none of that comparison was happening in a vacuum: Brissett is under his rookie contract for two more years after this one, and Garoppolo is going to command the franchise tag at a minimum this offseason.

QB controversy in Indy? Maybe a few more wins and Luck's massive contract won't look so appealing.

Oh wait....... it's already started............

Brissett vs Luck

especially if he has residual effects from his shoulder damage

It seems like it should be a joke. But if you extended Brisset's performance out to a full season only 2/5 of Luck's seasons would be clearly better

And remember Brissett is handicapped by not having had an offseason with the colts.

I dunno, but all of this talk about Brissett makes me want to see another 2-3 plays where Dorsett can showcase his speed.

Jet sweeps, bubble screens, maybe a crossing route, and of course the deeper threat.

I always said he would be a franchise QB...his poise in the pocket when he played last year and his attitude was what sold me. Everything else can be trained.

I really didn't expect him to show up at this level so quickly. I really want to see what this man can be in a couple years if he keeps getting regular experience.

Ya know what's best about this discussion in the last page or so?
It would drive Grigson absolutely bat-**** crazy!!!!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again...We traded the wrong backup.

Betcha $100 bucks Jacoby Wan Kanobi has a better NFL career than Jimmy G.

I can’t believe it’s a thirteen point spread right now in Seattle. They suck this year! I like colts outright for the upset Sunday night.

If they end up flipping Jacoby for a 2nd rounder or he becomes their starter of the future and they trade Luck for a 1st rounder well....that'll suck.

What will suck will be the fact that he was traded to a conference rival.

Dorsett looked serviceable last week. Too bad he probably won't get many opportunities barring injury. Either way, he looks like someone who they may be able to build upon with more time. We'll have to revisit this trade down the road a bit.

You think Brissett and the Colts are going to march into SEA and pull off that kind of upset? Wow. If so, the Seahawks really do suck this year. Personally, I think their defense steps up this week.

In a hypothetical where Jacoby pans out as a bonafide starter that's an awfully high bar for a WR to hit in terms of being of comparable value. I'm not down on Dorsett in the least and I'm excited to have him here but if he washes out and the Colts end up the winner that will sting for all the obvious reasons.

There's no comparable to a franchise QB in the NFL. If Brissett is a franchise QB, then we got hosed on the trade. We turned down 2 1sts for Jimmy G since we thought he was a franchise QB and was worth more.

He didn't need an offseason with the Colts. They run a simple offensive scheme that doesn't require nearly as much coordination. Dorsett needed training camp in NE, though; that offense relies heavily on coordination, knowledge and familiarity.

Finally we'll get to see him play a game that's not at the same time as ours.

This game is a big stepping stone for him- primetime, against an elite defense. He either ascends or descends.
