Even if I contributed dogshit it would be more useful than what you and the rest of the short bus crew contribute.

I was just trying to figure out if you were a Rhodes scholar or a Mensa member myself but I guess it’s neither.

Too bad.

He looked 40 in game one. QBs fall off dramatically. One game it’s there..the next it’s not. My statements weren’t completely off base.

The time someone has to deny what he believes just to alleviate criticism is the end. So I believe what I saw. And it wasn’t false.

We gotta agree to disagree then. The first game wasn't that bad. He could have thrown for tds that game if stats are your thing instead of running it. We moved the ball easily. It was a bad second half and by this "falling off" arguament he should have sucked since then instead of playing lights out. Everyone has a bad game, flaco was horrendous today, and other qbs suck regularly with not much criticism as Brady gets for a half of play. We don't win today without Brady.

I don’t disagree with most of what you said. He did throw 11 off target passes in week on vs 2 from Smith by those who chart such things. That also synced up with what I saw.

When a player is 40, and QBs can just go sideways, and he has uncharacteristic misfires it can be acknowledged to be an “uh oh” moment.

As far as those who would point to the past performance as a reason to have certainty it will change isn’t correct. Heck, BB doesn’t even pay or play his player based upon past performances. TB came back to being himself and that’s all in the past. Doesn’t mean it didn’t happen although all of us wish it hadn’t.

God seriously can you just shut the **** up already, acknowledge that you overreacted after the KC game and we can just move on from this stupid argument ? Jesus..

While this is hilarious, I'm also kinda of the mindset that what happens in the game thread should stay in the game thread. A bunch of people go full ****** in there every week, but at least it's somewhat quarantined there. I'm not sure this is a Pandora's box that needs opening.
I like this. It lets me see the cream of the crop without having to endure three hours trying to keep up with every post.

Yeah, my perception is probably colored a bit by the fact that if we were doing these ~5-10 years ago I'd probably feature pretty prominently in some of them. I've calmed down a bit in my 30s, luckily.

Figured I'd begin doing this week to week to showcase some of the finest stupidity this forum has to offer in the game day thread. Notice that a lot of these are the same people over and over again...

One play before a 3rd and 1 stop with 1:13 left to go in the half.

6+ minutes to go in the 2nd quarter.

McCourty's coverage was perfect on the play. The throw was better.

1:42 left in the 3rd, up 28-27.

Week 3.

12:14 left in the 4th.

Just under 8 minutes left in the 4th.

Kontra you really can't get enough credit for this. You're doing big important work

Seriously, if we went back through the last 10 years of game threads you'd find a lot of ridiculous and stupid overreactions on my part. I think that's true for the vast majority of people here who posts regularly in game threads. I think that's a pretty common shared experience here, to the point that most people really won't bury you for game thread overreactions as long as you just acknowledge the absurdity of it all, move on, and for the love of god don't double down and try to justify it for two weeks after the fact.

First rule of holes is very much in effect here.

I noticed that none of the authors quoted in the OP were names that I recognize. Yours I do. Most of the ones I recognize because they often contribute value to threads I follow. There are a few who shall remain nameless that I recognize for other reasons. Thankfully not many. One reason I like the idea of a thread like this every week is so I can get to know some new names.

I am sure I posted some very stupid **** about Brady in 2013 when we started so slow with all the rookie receivers. The thing is that after all those years of our coaching staff fixing things midseason no matter how bad they looked at the beginning they have an almost unlimited amount of trust and faith coming from me. It will work out and reacting to September/early October games is a fools errand.

He's on pace for over 40 TDs and 5800 yds. While it's unlikely he gets to either (especially the yds) he still looks like the best QB in the league through 3 games. If that some how isn't good enough for you then that says more about you then how Tom Brady is actually playing.

Righto. This D went into the game allowing 31 ppg, allowing 483 ypg and sported the second worst DPR in the entire league.

By the time I made the remark about their ineptness they had allowed 20 points in a half actually exceeding their already legendary to this juncture suckiness.

Yeah, you're just the crackerjack to tell anybody they're stupid. LMAO

You remain, utterly and completely delusional.

I get that fans are emotional and get carried away in the game thread, but with what the Patriots have given us for the last 16 plus years, some of the posters should be ashamed of themselves. never give up on this team.

I'll never give up while Brady is on this team.

And I will be here to refute you..every..single..week.

Just like when I posted multiple articles backing up my points. Or Butlers comments that you, of course, explained away.
Yeah, you managed to disappear quite quickly after that. Butler's comments aren't anything that a Pats player hasn't said, even after they played well in a win. But keep digging that hole deeper every single week while the rest of the forum calls you out on it. It's apparently easier to do that and get buried, time and again, than it is to just admit that you went a little too far in an act of pure emotion. It's quite entertaining. It's also an interesting character study in the lengths that some humans will go to instead of just admitting they were wrong. Same time next week?

Are you sure you're not looking in the mirror with your elderly, dimentia-stricken ass? So much salt and time spent constructing replies for someone who supposedly isn't bothered at all at what I have to say about them.

Yep.

Riddle me this If TB12 played like he did week one, would this have been a loss or a win? Defense was about as shoddy. Long plays after long plays. Again, everything about my quote was legit and true. Nothing was false, outside of the 8-8 thing, except, as you cannot comprehend....and the other pink hats...week one was what 8-8 teams look like.

Can’t wait for you to try and make me deny the truth just so you can have a bullying victory.

Actually..this whole thread is basically bullying. Good job!

It probably would have been a loss. We would have lost 33-27.

Fortunately for us the receivers actually did get some separation this time and therefore we didn't need the inept run game.

But you're right, defenses that give up 42 points are an integral part of an 8-8 team recipe (or much worse).

I don't know about bullies here, but I do believe there are some bottom-feeders. I prefer to make it about the football and pursue the argument with facts rather than about the poster. But if they insist on going that route, I can accommodate that as well.

So, your assessment of Brady in the first game is simply wrong. That isn't necessarily a reflection on some quality you're lacking. It's just that everybody is wrong sometimes. Even I've been wrong once or twice, lol.
