Cannon has concussion...

Could be an ugly one this week if Cannon is out. I expect the offense to struggle but if they can put up at least 20, the game should be ours.

Considering that Houston is averaging 10 points a game(including one against Jacksonville who went on to allow 37 pts in week 2)... yeah I think 20 points will be enough.

I have no respect for their offense, but that team had to endure very very difficult times in their home town. I wonder how much focus they could muster as they worried about external factors.

I guess that is yet another example of how phenomenal Brady is. When he is under stress from the outside, he continues to shine. We're gonna miss that guy when he moves on.

Just piss poor luck with injuries so far this year. Reminds one more of 2013 and 2015 than it does 2014 and 2016, when the team was relatively healthy in each year.

Yup. All signs pointing to 8-8

Also, we live in a world where people are scared because Marcus Cannon might be out. Two years ago, I would have laughed at you if you said that. Now it's a concern.
What an odd response to a comment comparing the years we lost in the AFCCG (2013 and 2015) due to injuries, versus the years we were healthy and won the SB (2014 and 2016). Nowhere did he state anything about having a mediocre record or even being overly concerned.

Bad matchup with Watt now, but this time last year against the Texans we shut them out without Brady or Garoppolo.

So it's Flemming against JJ Watt huh?

I know that BB usually handles Watt well, Fleming is really bad... And it's really the 1st time we face Clowney, Watt and Dareaus (sp) at the same time.
I think you mean Whitney Mercilus, although your point is still the same.

Dareus still plays on Buffalo, I think.

In the Playoffs last year David Andrews got Abused Edelman saved our @sses with some Big long catches. The game plan should feature a heavy dosage of White/Lewis we are going to need them for quick completions to neutralize the Texans Rush. Will be watching the Blob Dwayne Allen to see what exactly what he's doing out there, he's been a mystery up to now.

Watt never has had a big game against the Patriots, for whatever reason.

I feel like he is always injured or out when we play the Texans.
In 4 games vs. NE since 2012, JJ has 0.5 sacks and 11 tackles.
I'm never sad to see him kept away from TB12.

He's talking about the quote in my sig.

eh, short term injury that they can cover enough to win.

just move Allen over next to Fleming and give him TE help on Watt.

If there is going to be a lot of grief at the LOS/backfield for Brady, I hope they use that boring game plan from the Rams game last year where they keep Brady clean and safe at the cost of offensive production.

Let Brady throw the ball away/into the dirt as much as needed so he doesn't get sacked and count on the Houston offense not to score. It's almost the same situation as that 2016 Rams team. IMO.

If Watt and Clowney et al are as ferocious as advertised, and our OL as bad as we fear, maybe we should start Jacoby for this game. Let him take the abuse.

Oh, but he's got Peyton Manning's old job now. Shoot.

Except that our defense was better in 2016.

Do you think that the defense can figure out what "the game plan should feature"?
We don't play against air.

Last year Houston decided to try and stunt and create mismatches up front to beat us and IN ORDER TO DO SO they emphasized taking away the short routes at the expense of sacrificing the potential big play.
Most teams choose not to do that because they are facing the GOAT, understand that he will find and exploit the weakness and would like that not be a bunch of big plays.
However in a one game scenario sometimes coaches will break tendency and do just what everyone else is afraid to try.
Houston game plan against us FAILED last January.
People seem to think it succeeded because it made our offense look different than it normally does but the end result was the same. We won confortably we put up 34 points and close to 400 yards of offense.

We threw it 46 times that game 31 to WRs. Not sure how you thinkbhe eas throwing it away when he completed 33.
We will play the style we played against the rams this week if Houston defends us like the rams did.
If Houston chooses to defend us like they did in the playoffs last year you will see a similar game plan but with a couple of revisions based upon film study.
